Doesn’t matter . Engaging the threat and taking his attention from unarmed bystanders is the primary objective. In nearly every instance this happens the gunman is killed or takes their on life when engaged with someone shooting back.
Lunatic gunmen are not so tough when bullets start coming back at them.
