'French authorities will close dozens of museums, tourism sites and shops on Saturday, including the Eiffel Tower and Louvre, fearing a recurrence of last week’s violence in Paris, officials said on Thursday. '
'He said the Louvre museum, Orsay museum, the two operas, and the Grand Palais were among the sites that would be closed a week after rioters looted and defaced the Arc de Triomphe. '
'The Eiffel Tower will also be closed on Saturday due to the protests, the site’s operator SETE said, warning that it could not ensure security for visitors.'
Tourism constitutes 10% of France's GDP and 85.7 million tourists visited it in 2013, making it the most popular destination in the world, according to Wiki. There are also an estimated 3 million tourism-related jobs.

When mobs (from whichever side) rule, everyone loses.

It's a beautiful city whose history has been written and built over hundreds of years! I hope the City of Light doesn't become the city of darkness.

If Paris starts losing tourism dollars from this, things will get far worse.

It's sad when a group clings to some misguided dogma even when overwhelming evidence shows it's not in your best interest. Sad.
I had the opportunity to visit Paris years ago. It was beautiful. IMO, one of the prettiest cities in the world. Sad to think what a misguided policy can cause, and how people act like they never saw this coming.

The French government is preparing for more protests this weekend even after caving on the fuel tax. They going to deploy 89,000 officers (8,000 in Paris) across the country and will have around 10 police armored vehicles in Paris as well. The Eiffel tower is going to be closed & the gov't is urging shops to close too. Le Figaro is quoting intelligence officials who claim they have reports that "armed" attacks against French government officials could happen as well. Lastly seeing some unconfirmed reports that the French Army may be on the streets this weekend too.

Their job is to surrender early and give the protestors too much confidence.

Paris is incredible - even today with the all the Moslem swine. Sucks that tens of thousands of visitors wont be able to experience it in full because of tiny little cuck Macron's idiocy.

Not like this is unprecedented in French history.
shite like this happened in 1968 and shut down the Louvre, amongst other places, for a while.
And, as of now, this is reasonably nonviolent on behalf of the protesters. This isn’t like the Baltimore or Ferguson riots with people looting shite and randomly attacking people that I know of.

He said "this country" which sounded like he was referring to America. If he was talking about France, fair enough.

The protesters are mostly white frenchmen that are tired of subsidizing the muslim and african immigrants, the fuel tax was just the last drop that drove them over the edge.
