Some people I follow are saying his juggling of the Yen is genius and will basically hollow out Japan while keeping the US chugging along, but Japan doesn't realize it They also see Scott expanding this cash swap to other countries, allowing us to weaken them too.
If people on this message board can read and understand this why do we think Japan and others won’t realize it and will go along with it?

You want Yellen back?
I’m not a finance guy but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I can’t really tell the substantive difference between the two. They seem to be playing the same can kicking game because our fundamental government function and revenue demands are incongruent.
Americans want the government to do many things but not pay for it. So we create debt to fund it instead. I’ve said it many times recently: there will be a reckoning and it will come down to cut the government to the bone or pay more taxes. I think pay more taxes is going to win. The 50 year fantasy we’ve lived under is coming to an end.

OK then a-hole, give us YOUR pick.
You assholes NEVER provide a workable solution to anything you whine about.

We have seen abysmal job growth, GDP growth south of 2%, inflation in the mid-3%, increased deficit spending and he’s losing the bond market…. again. He, statistically, is on track to go down as one of the worst Treasury Secretaries in modern memory.
So all better than the previous gal?
Don't worry, it is transitory.

We averaged 6.5% inflation per year under her. And were told it was transitory.

Scott Bessent is wrecking the Globalists monetarily. Whatever pains we have in the US pale in comparison to those of London.

We’re better but still double the 2% target I believe. Yellen caught the front end of consumer spending uptick after COVID vaccine that made the QE of 2020 come home to roost finally.
I don’t think Bessent is doing a good or bad job. He’s just playing the hand dealt by the elected officials.

Care to explain this???
The treasury mkt is a small portion of the bond market.
Non-treasury bonds price off of treasuries so yields in the rest of the market are higher.
However, most every market spreads to the treasuries are extremely tight. Tighter than they have been in years (actually decades).

Whatever his latest intervention was lasted like a day.
This interview was pretty wild. The guy was praising Bessent just a week ago and now says he is doing reckless things at the wrong time. This is some serious doom porn.

Bessent is one of the best things of this administration - Rome wasn’t built in a day and Yrump is actually fixing decades old imbalances.
