It all has to do with accepting people for who they are and not expecting them to act normal.

From what I could find, defense is claiming a dissociative episode. You know, the old ‘serial killer’ defense.

She definitely is fricked in the head. Most killers are though. Good luck finding 12 people to buy this bullshite. (In a liberal state though, who knows?)

All part of our wonderful, enlightened, “progressive” world where more concern, care and resources are devoted to the well-being of the perpetrator who is considered the actual victim.

Of course, this only reaches so low on the progressive stack. If the perp is a straight white male, there's no excuse in the world that can justify any crime he committed. Hell, even in the case OP is talking about, people are blaming the husband for "allowing" his wife to kill his kids by not watching her around them 24/7.

Exactly. It just means there’s little to no chance of rehabilitation. They can’t discern right from wrong making them far more dangerous.

Crazy that as we have become more aware of mental health it seems like our mental health problems have increased.

We do more for mental health than any point in history. Yet people are clamoring for insane asylums.

Judas was oppressed and maybe even possessed by Satan, and yet he still bore the guilt of his treasonous actions against Jesus.

Even if she was having a mental health crisis, she is still culpable for her actions. If there was ever a moment where she realized she wasn't right in the head and it could lead to her harming herself or others, she needed to take whatever action necessary to prevent it.

This site, especially the OT, loves to excuse any criminal behavior with “he/she is mentally ill”. No, being an evil a-hole is not mental illness.

there is no question this woman was legitimately screwed up. the only question is how much do you want to punish her.
