Any obstacle has some effect. From a military point of view, any protective obstacle must be covered by friendly direct or indirect fire, the latter needing some sort of spotter. This obviously would be changed for a border fence unless we treat it as a DMZ type situation.

Any obstacle that is left uncovered is essentially useless.

Sections of border wall would be an asset in securing the border as long as proper monitoring and reactions were provided for.

Border security should not be a partisan issue.

Obviously, people will not all agree on the same means but there should be an effective way forward without making it so partisan. This happens with too many issues today.

I love the idiots that believe the lies from politicians like Pelosi that say they’ll just dig under them, climb them, or go around them so therefore it’s a huge waste of money. Well no fricking shite silly putty face, some will find ways to get through. Nothing will ever be 100% foolproof.

The irony is this is same logic conservatives attach to gun control. New gun control laws won’t be 100% effective because if you take away their access to a gun they will just use some other means therefore any new gun control laws are pointless.

Exactly this destroys the low iq talking point that we already have a wall

This wont happen on a 30ft monster

When a wall is backed up with armed guards towers that are in range to shoot people trying to escape they work. Not an unmanned wall like trumpette is proposing. You're smarter than that, aren't you?

Has there ever been anything that made it past TSA that would be considered banned or prohibited by law or whatever you wanna call it that made it onto a commercial flight in the United States? Yes, it’s happened countless times.

Guess it’s time to do away with any type of security measures before people board airplanes, the shite doesn’t work.

The TSA is your example of cost-effective security measures?

And you wonder why you're losing...

I followed this exact same discussion via a friend who is a former army engineer. He and his buddies all considered the idea of a wall along the entire border to be a monumental waste of assets, proposed by someone who doesn't have the slightest idea what they are talking about.

I agree

However Democrats refuse to do anything else about our immigration issues. It's come to a head because of this.

That is just an example of a poor design choice next to what looks like a natural elevation. In that area, making the wall/fence an extra 15-20 ft would have solved that problem.

It would be crazy if there was a unmanned border crossing.

That would make it much easier for illegals to cross than trying to make a ramp for a Jeep.

Oh wait there is. It is a extremely rural area that goes into a US National Park. You must give your info to a camera at the border.

I’m sure that works

Closing the crossing would be the only option, because a wall can’t be built in that terrain.
