This is a good question. I don't know if it is a ticketed event.

If I ordered a drink at the bar and paid for it, I'd be carrying the roady on the way out.

From a 2018 article,

quote:

Tickets to the dinner are $300 each, $125 of which is considered a tax deductible donation to the association. This year, the group sold 26 tables of ten at $3,000 each. In addition, Thomma tells CJR, “Some people say, ‘I just like you guys, I’m going to give you a contribution of $5,000.’ instead of attending the dinner.”

So it's very likely they paid for the bottles with the tickets.

Well, liberals are looters. What did he expect?

Doesn't insurance cover it? Isn't that we were told when businesses were burned to the ground in the Summer of Love?

I’m guessing the bottles were all open.

By all means pile on the press, but it’s not like all the half poured bottles were going to get consolidated and used for something else. This happens at the end of every event.

The funny part here is that they just had an active shooter and taking the bottles was still a priority for these people.

He is being a little bitch because he knows while those folks tickets will be rainchecked if this redo this, but he will have to buy all new wine. Operational risk. Deal with it.

What about it isn't legit? The video clearly shows much if not everything taht was described.

Regardless, you don't hate the media enough. The fake crying by William Hurt in the movie Broadcast News? Told a very real story. There's never been a ounce of sincerity in field of journalism probably ever.

Thanks.

This changes my thinking a bit. They didn't get their meal and grabbed a bottle of wine on the way out. I'm not calling that "high class", but it doesn't quite seem to meet the definition of theft.

And what really needs to happen is for Trump to sponsor the rescheduled event just so he can needle them for being there on his dime.

It’s his wife, and he was shielding her at the table earlier. Selective editing.

Journalists are notorious degenerates and drunks especially the old newspaper guys

I can attest to this fact ... it's the absolute truth. I was one, I've known more than a few ... not happy people. If they weren't drunks they were miserable, grumpy, self-righteous, cynics. ESPECIALLY the newspaper guys.

Sports writers are a little bit different ... but just as cutthroat, if not moreso.

Radio and TV guys, broadcast media guys, and even some gals ... they're different in their own ways.

Radio is a dead medium now.

TV is now all about the looks and the hair.

Print journalism is dying ... even the big national publications.

But yeah, as a whole, print journalists were/are especially hubristic and depraved. Dishonorable self serving scumbags for the most part. A bunch of grifters as well.

Trump should give them complimentary bottles of wine from his winery.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the guest have to purchase tickets?

I get it. some you guys hate the media, and so do I, but using this to act all high and mighty is a joke…

I find dying on this hill hilarious…

Go clutch your pearls somewhere else, it’s a bottle of wine for Christ sake..
