Women want to support women even when its insane. See the me too movement
The Luigi thing is more about over the top hatred of insurance companies
Many on this board are sympathetic with Luigi but not with Lindsay.

Social media happened. Women are naturally driven by emotion. Social media has made it very easy to manipulate them emotionally.

Mangione support is twofold 1) He's agood looking " misunderstood " guy from a wealthy family 2) Mangione attacked a leading leach in what is perceived by many as a healthcare scammer like United Healthcare. Otherwise Mangione is a nut, and a Messiah for liberal Yuppies

I'm not sure this is an accurate statement. I'm sure many share his frustration and anger with insurers but I'm pretty confident very few are OK with gunning down a husband and father in broad daylight, regardless of his profession.

Luigi support amongst women is largely driven by the fact he's good looking and comes from money. If he looked like Danny Davito and was middle class, he wouldn't have near the traction that he does. It's the same as the "I can fix her" stuff we joke about

Correct. Many people in the public eye are disliked for different reasons and if something bad happens to them, social media has numbed us to the idea that these are real people.
Some flippant comment like "he sucked" or "good riddance" gets translated to mean that people support it, but it's not true.
