Many reasons, but Dems know their open borders stance is a losing policy and the polls have shown that, even ones done by pro-dem news media. That talking point by Trump was a huge factor in the last election. So they're trying to flip the support and narrative by demonizing ICE and immigration enforcement, not assisting them, and turning their operation in Minneapolis into a shite show.

Yes, I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that people who voted for mass deportations are NOT out in the streets in the bluest city in the bluest state in freezing weather trying to obstruct federal immigration enforcement.
