Stop turning the other cheek.

Call the police? Our church has an off duty police officer on hand during services.

Agree, this verse is often misrepresented to mean Christians are never allowed to fight back. In a right handed culture a slap on the right cheek is a backhanded slap. Back handed slaps aren’t self defense fights they are insults meant to intimidate. You can’t use that text to say Christians can never defend themselves. The life of King David should make that pretty clear.

FWIW I agree with your premise. I think the allegory involved with Jesus chastising peter for pulling the sword on the soldier is strongly correlated to what we see developing today.
Jesus did not want violence in the name of worship, the bible is full of examples wherein the faithful suffered at the hands of popular opinion/government but were expected to "keep the faith".
A time is coming in this country wherein we will be expected to "turn the other cheek" with respect to our freedom of religion.

People have screwed that verse up so much. Same as “the meek shall inherit the earth” people take meek to mean weak when that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Well, don’t simply type this without providing us with your exegesis of this verse.

What’s a turn the other cheek Christian to do when mobs invade their churches?
There was a time in my life, Rev, that I would have turned my cheek for ANY possible scenario. I knew the Truth, vanquished fear, played the 'long game', had the willpower, and believed that Jesus was right...and that such sacrificial action would be what separated the "wheat from the tares". Big time 'brownie points' in 'heaven'.
But as my love grew for my Brethren, and all things as Creations of the 'hand of God'...my love demanded another choice - though I still had the choice to sacrifice my self for personal rewards in heaven...and the question became, is it all about me, or what of those who will not understand why a person who serves Love...would choose to allow evil to persecute and eventually, destroy love. Even to the point of censoring Truth, and brainwashing children.
Especially when Jesus said that in His 'Second Coming', He'd be wielding a sword, and bringing the heat. I know that I don't have Jesus' wisdom...but I know that my beautiful and innocent (assumption, worldly version) Great Granddaughter and all who worship Love and bear the burden of protecting their loves, would see such as not a 'Godly' choice...but a selfish abomination. If even God stands by and lets Evil damn the Innocent...what does that say about God? Not rocket science.
Bottom line: Draw the line, speak Truth and Love, but let those whose ACTIONS are overtly evil, know that their CHOICE will be what allows open season on them. Not ours.
If I am in error re this critical action, the I'll take the arse-chewing at my 'Judgement'. After all, I live by Jesus' offer of Faith, Mercy, and good intent...not by 'Justice'. Standing by and doing nothing for brownie points in heaven is off the table for me. A bridge too far. Hopefully, I won't be tempted at this level; but I know that off the table too.

There's enough baws at our church to do some removal. We have quite a few border agents who pack heat and there may be a few others, so I've been told.
In the tread yesterday about the church being interrupted, it stated that the pastor preached sermons about using AK’s. It’s hard to believe in that type of church that none of the parishioners were packing?

Unpopular take:
God isn't terribly concerned with our institutions or political movements or our rejection of said movements.
I do think there is inherent anti-Christianity in some of them, and that this war on liberalism could soon impact our ability to worship and assemble, but I'm still wary of conflating Christianity with a defense of a liberal worldview (even if the latter has often helped to facilitate the former). I'm guessing God would tell me he doesn't need our political systems to do his work.
Admittedly, it's something I struggle with, as I very much want to be engaged in both of these "fights"

Quit listening to Hollywood's version of Christianity.
I’ve been a born again Christian for over 40 years and have read through the Bible too many times to count. I’m certainly not looking to Hollywood for my Bible interpretations!

Sure, but can you legally use a weapon against people who are simply disrupting the service by shouting? And what if they refuse to leave?
In my area we’d call the police and they would remove and arrest them quickly. I understand rural churches and places like New York don’t have that luxury, so I would think physical removal would be option (a). If they outnumber the able-bodied congregation members capable of physically removing them, then I assume that escalates the situation considerably. The situation at the church posted on here should’ve never been allowed to escalate the way it did. That’s a massive failure of the police. Had the script been reversed and that been a protest outside an abortion clinic, how long would that behavior have been tolerated by police?
