"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's"

I'm fairly certain Jesus would prefer us put our faith in God and "keep our mind on things of Heaven and not of things of the Earth" rather than gun down people invading churches.

Better men than those against which we currently struggle have tried to eradicate scripture and have failed.

It got me thinking, if we as Christians are supposed to turn the other cheek, and in some communities, you can’t rely on the police to intervene, what is a Christian to do?

You only have two cheeks to turn. After that, all bets are off.

Also, all bets are off if you threaten my family. No cheek turning necessary.

Jesus is the shepherd. Scripturally, we are in fact the sheep.

It depends on the interruption. If there is a protest or individuals come into the church simply to disrupt the service, you call the police and try to de-escalate the situation while the congregation waits patiently to resume.

If there is threat to life and limb, you can protect it through use of reasonable force to stop the threat.

I guess sometimes you can't ignore the Old Testament and you have to go old school.

Well, don’t simply type this without providing us with your exegesis of this verse.

The term meek in almost every Bible you pick up, will have gentle as an adjective of it. Gentle does not mean powerless, it means something like “those who have knowledge and proficiency with weapons, but are slow to use them.”

It means those with the power to impose their will on others, but do not.

Technically there are under-shepherds in that culture and biblically (like Moses, David, Peter, etc)

People God has called to lead His sheep and protect them on earth

I think you have a misunderstanding of what "turn the other cheek" means.

We've seen enough mass violence at church's that if someone comes in "disrupting" it church goers would be very smart to take it VERY seriously.

Christians need to quit being such weak pussies, your religion has been subverted from leftists from within who have torn down your institutions and destroyed your morals and you all still think "turning the other cheek" will work on people that hate you and your history. These people will burn your churches, desecrate your holy sites, and force heresy upon you and your people unless you fight back. Shame how most of the people out here kneeling and washing the feet of these marxists are Christian preachers who dont realize that they will be lined up against a wall like the rest of us if blm gets their way.

Armenian Christians turned the other cheek during WW1. 1 million dead later, there were no other cheeks to turn.

Luckily, Jesus died for the sins that would be committed by us in our church.

I am in error re this critical action, the I'll take the arse-chewing at my 'Judgement'. After all, I live by Jesus' offer of Faith, Mercy, and good intent...not by 'Justice'. Standing by and doing nothing for brownie points in heaven is off the table for me. A bridge too far. Hopefully, I won't be tempted at this level; but I know that off the table too

Funny you should say this RCD.
Years ago, when I still worked in the oilfield, I was a young Christian working on a pipe laying barge and my boss was a devout born again Christian. He was a huge man with a loud presence and had a son who played pro football for the Houston Oilers.
Everyone knew he was a Christian, because he would share his faith openly with all in which he came in contact.
Some of the men would mock him behind his back and one day in the mess hall, one of the skiopers said,” I’ve read where the Bible says you are supposed to turn the other cheek. What will you do if I slap you?”
He grinned and said,” you are right, but every now and again, my old nature flairs up and I backslide into sin. Are you willing to test it?”
The skipper didn’t and walked off.

But if someone walks into a service and starts beating you or your family, keeping a heavenly minded attitude won’t help.
