What would gun owners get out of a gun control compromise?

Each side makes concessions. What concessions would anti-gun people make to gun owners?

an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions.

Nothing. We already have our guns. We would be giving away a liberty and getting nothing in return.

You know the answer.
Nothing.
Today it's 'assault weapons'.
Tomorrow it will be all.
They won't stop.

For the last 48 hours, I have been proposing that background checks become intensified and mandatory for every gun transfer of any kind. Buyer must provide certified physician's note of no past or ongoing dangerous mental conditions. All violent gun crime is met with draconian sentences.
In exchange, repeal the Hughes amendment and allow the public to purchase new manufactured full auto shoulder fired rifles and pistols in the same way that people currently buy suppressors via the NFA registry. No mounted machine guns.
Guess how many liberals even wanted to talk about such a deal?

How would they enforce backgrounds checks for person to person sales?

You couldn't enforce it. Just make it a felony and punish after the fact. Have to go to an FFL and pay for the background check. Even for inherited guns.
Believe me, I know what kind of problems this would create, but I'm here to compromise, unlike them.

Yet our brethren on the left don't even see a need to provide id to vote, but I'll have to go see a Dr and have my HIPAA rights violated and show id to legally purchase a firearm.
Doesn't sound like a good deal to me. I do agree that gun offenses should have heavy sentences.

I agree with you. I don't like it either. But it gives them things they want and gives me things I want. This is an exercise in seeing whether anyone is interested in any trade off at all.
Do you have any suggestions? Anything you would give up to get something else?

Honestly, I would go a different direction. Armed police or security of some sort at schools. There are tons of veterans that would take gigs like this. There are also tons of dad's, myself included, that would go through training and evaluations and volunteer to work security a few days a school year if it meant keeping my kids safe.

Send thoughts and prayers to gun owners who are forced to give up their guns.

This is a typical leftist response. They are not willing to compromise. This is why we can no longer give them an inch on anything.

None.
There was no legislation after the Vegas shooting, this will pass.
I believe in the "Give them an inch, they will take a mile" principal.
Just take a look at the "We only want to ban the Confederate flag" example.

Quit talking about it and do it if you feel so strongly about it.
I'm willing to die, and more importantly, I'm willing to kill to protect my 2nd Amendment rights bitch.
Are you?

It’s already against the law to knowingly sell a gun to a prohibited person. So you are making criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens.

Trade a 24-hour wait period for background checks for federally mandated voter ID.

I believe we have already made compromises that have failed to work. When will the left realize that guns are not the problem, but people. As society let’s promote families that have fathers he know what their kids are into. Let’s train parents to beawarw of their children’s behavior and intervene when it is needed.
Let’s require the fbi to do their job. This is not the first shooting in which the fbi dropped the ball. The Charlestown shooter was not legally allowed to have a gun, but the FBI didnot complete the background check in time.

That their children and fellow church goers will be less likely to be placed into body bags while we watch on tv.
There's nothing else.
There's nothing else.
