WWIII will start when our enemies believe they see weakness in the west.
Were are weaker then we were 4 years ago, but we are still stronger then the Russians/Chinese. So If/when will depend on the wests continued decline.

With world wars, they always come out of left field.
I think it might come as a result of an internal conflict in China when the economic centers in the South get tired of being ruled over by the North due to some unforeseen event like a famine or another pandemic. Russia will then try to help the CCP reestablish control, maybe Taiwan, Japan and South Korea lend aid in some form to the coastal cities. Kim gets antsy and fires some artillery on Seoul, kills US troops, and now we have a problem.
But World Wars have always been a result of many compounding mistakes that were all necessary to get to the point when it all goes to hell.
But yeah, Russia doesn't have the power (economic or man) to prosecute another war any time soon or maybe ever again. It's going to come out of something popping off within China.
