What does one really GET out of a M.Ed, that they can't get in 4 years of undergrad?
Higher pay from the school district. That's about it.
And an administrative credential and the ability to advance.

In Georgia it’s 60%of salary from the day you hit 30 years of service for the rest of your life. It also includes survivor benefits for spouse and access to insurance at similar rates to current employees.

Unlike any other job I can think of, teachers get a automatic bump in pay just for getting the Masters.

shite, I donate plasma too. Nice to have some extra pocket change and it's close to my office.
Where's my cover page?

I’d bet there is little correlation between student performance and having a teacher with a masters degree.

Which is bullshite. I just loved busting my arse in my teaching job, getting recognized by the administration, and winning awards to make $40k/year while Mrs. Hicks sat on her fat arse every day giving worksheets or showing movies and making $55k because she had a master’s from EasyPie U and 15 years experience.

She is getting paid plenty She can't manage money Her primary job is almost 50% higher than the median household income in her area. She claims to have 2 part time jobs in addition to that job and donates plasma for extra money. Her husband also works according to the article. They don't have an income problem. They're incompetent with money. And not just a little incompetent. Extremely incompetent.
Absolutely. My wife and I are both teachers and make a combined $115k/year with master’s degrees. I side hustle because I can but to be pulling ~$7000/month into my bank account after taxes and insurance and retirement is pretty damn okay at 33 years old.
Teachers like the one in the OP do us no favors in advocating for any further advancements as professionals.

Yeah. Like zero. Unless it’s high school science and then maybe. But we probably need more studies.

i brought this up earlier
the government-union structure really fricks up this whole argument (and the really good teachers)

You aren't donating. You are selling.
Nothing wrong with that. Especially if the collection place is a for profit company.

I really have no clue how teachers can afford to live in larger cities.
In the DC area teachers are paid reasonably well (and they do good work I might add) but mostly they just marry guys with six figure incomes who want a wife that works well with kids.

Does that take into account admins?
According to google that is the average salary of teachers. And administration averages roughly $78k.

Exactly. Some people use the term "full" to imply that they get their full salary. I know zero teachers here in Tennessee who were able to retire at 30 years.
