What is the motivation for these large Democrat cities to defund police

Let the citizens flee to republican cities and turn them blue.

The Dems played the mob thinking they could control it and sway middle class voters at the same time. The ploy was that the mob would
Create chaos and Biden would seem as the candidate who could bring back stability. The problem is that they lost control of the mob. They don’t learn from their own failures. Same thing occurred in 1968. They lost control of the mob they played to and as a result Nixon won big.

Distraction tactic

Nailed it. A socialist government requires an even larger police force than the one we have. Defund police is a lie that actually means replace the existing police with those loyal to the cause.

Virtue signaling. They believe that the 'criminals' are not responsible; that it's the fault of Capitalism.

People commit all manner of crime, believing they can avert the negative consequences. Same with the Libs.
