What I've read that makes the most sense is, they want about 50% of the police money to go into their communities in other ways, like combating homelessness, combating mental illness, funding poor folks in some capacity, maybe drug rehabs?, community centers, etc.

From what I've seen so far, most of these people crying to defund the police are just real stupid outcasts that have no common sense. Most likely it's people that's had some negative experience(s) with police in their own feeble mind such as a speeding ticket. I don't think it has anything to do with politics. I read somewhere that even 81% of the blacks do not want to defund the police. It's only the near brain dead caliber stupid blacks like George Floyd that think they are going to get killed for riding around in a car with a burnt tail light or expired tag or some shite like that. And the brain dead stupid whites that either think, or want others to think they are so concerned for the blacks that are going to get killed for that simple of a reason that they must demand drastic changes for the black.

The mother of that girl in Seattle that was killed on I5 quoted something cute to the public from the daughter. That idiot literally thought being born black meant it was not safe to be alive. It's on youtube if you want to see it. People that stupid, or maybe the right word is "miserable" really don't need to be among our society.
