Team D are annoying people who whine & nag about problems but look for government to solve them.

Team R looks to solve problems and keep government out of most things.

Worldviews. They shape how every issue is interpreted.

Progs think suffering is always bad (bleeding hearts) and conservatives think that sometimes you can learn from your mistakes. Most policy disagreements boil down to that.

Personal property; how much should an individual be allowed to keep. "you didn't build that". Dems (Transnational Progressives) believe that all problems spring from this (selfish) base; and that 'Rights' are NOT granted by God...but by the Group.

The role of government in the lives of citizens.

Dems want the Nanny State and all that goes with central control. Reps want relatively unregulated free markets, low taxes, autonomy (which includes less government intrusiveness), 2nd Admendment rights, and a working Bill of Rights.

What we have right now.......is a mess.

Individual liberty vs Government control

I'll add power to my original comment. This is what politics is all about. They both want it and don't want to share.
