Let’s also not ignore the fact that this lady tried to manipulate our laws by having an anchor baby. I find that particularly galling.

Just be honest and admit you support open borders and no immigration laws whatsoever.

Getting married and having a baby doesn't equal "trying to have an anchor baby".

So we stop imprisonment of criminals??

Again.. how do you get on the “I get to pick and choose laws” list? Forms? Interviews? Have to pass a test? Write essays? How do you get on that list?

Why are democrats so selectively outraged about which laws should and should not be followed?

Breaking federal law via sanctuary cities and impeding law enforcement is permissible, yet detaining and deporting individuals who are here illegally isn’t?

It’s the height of hypocrisy.

......tough guys!!!!!!

No. Go for all of the fruit because I don't support spending a trillion dollars to identify the charity cases.

Again, this should put more focus on how our leaders intentionally abrogated our laws for decades to put us in this situation. Some more than others. They did so knowing this day would come and the appetite to throw out the "good" with the "bad" would make it politically hard.

Our leaders (again, some in particular) did this to us, and they did it intentionally. And we're going to shoot arrows at the people doing the unprecedentedly difficult work to undo it?

Spare me.

Dropping 15k immigrants in a small town is what's cruel.

Now you have a housing and job shortage. You have overburdened the school and healthcare systems of that town.

That’s exactly what she did. She had been ordered deported and then married an American and popped out a baby.

You might be surprised. I’m surprised every time it happens to me. Crossing my fingers I can make it to football season.

You won't get banned for that.

There's your answer. It's not petty to uphold the laws of this country. And it's certainly not stupid at least to those of us smart enough to know laws are a very important function of a civil society.

Meh. Living here 50 years after being given a pass from the government is different than most of these situations.

Without evidence that she did something, or missed appointments, or didn’t pay taxes, etc, this one is just petty.

How do you know this is obviously an act of cruelty? All you know is what her husband (is it even really her husband if she has no green card) said in a news article

5 second Google search and it turns out:
quote:

Milne was divorced from the nonimmigrant student she married prior to 1983. She then married a U.S. citizen but we found, in our above-said unpublished opinion, that she had admitted that it was a marriage of convenience. After another divorce, she married her current husband, a marriage that is uncontested as "bona fide." Her request for legal permanent resident status based on this marriage was denied under INA § 204(c) which precludes approval based on even an admittedly good-faith union if the petitioner had previously contracted an improper marriage.

She tried to do a sham marriage to a US citizen to get her green card. She divorced that guy before marrying her current husband but our immigration policy is that once you’ve tried to exploit our system by marrying a citizen for convenience, you can no longer use marriage to get legal immigration status. Sucks for her because I would assume her current 35 year marriage with a child is legit, but 1980s Donna screwed it up for 2025 Donna.
