We need to. If we start taking away the incentives to come here illegally it will slow down. Hire illegals, get arrested. No welfare for illegals. Stop giving citizen services to those here illegally. All of this along with a wall and the illegal issue will resolve itself.

I agree with everything you said but my issue is everything you listed, except for the wall, can be loop holed or done away with or simply not enforced... At least the wall is something that can not just be done away with on a whim...

trump is talking about areas that don't have a wall where illegals, including criminals and terrorists, are crossing.
the dems claim to be ok with every measure of security other than a wall. once they eviscerate border security, there won't be anyone to make all those other options work (drones, etc) and there won't be a wall and they get what they want, illegals pouring across the border

They have no plan to secure the border. They want those borders kept open to guarantee an unimpeded flow of so-called refugees and illegals. More immigrants mean more democrat voters. It's all about gaining and 'securing' power, followed by the implementation of their socialist agenda. That includes wealth redistribution via huge confiscatory taxes. You know socialist Venuzuela on steroids. Give them power and they will confiscate all privately held IRA, 401k, and Savings Accounts. Book it.
Right now the only thing that stands in their way is Donald Trump and his army of us deplorables. I figure Pelosi and Schumer will throw down the gaunlet and come after Trump.

This is the problem. The laws that are on the books are not being enforced. We need the wall, but we also need to end sanctuary cities and the attitude that if you are here, legal or not, we now need to provide for your well being. The wall by itself will barely slow down the flood of illegals, but add an end to the free ride loopholes and decriminalization via lack of enforcement and it will nearly stop.

Considering that our present border security operation catches about 40,000 people per month attempting to enter without entry authority, it seems like the present apparatus is doing a good job.
But it is undeniable that other undocumented workers are smuggled into this country to work at factories and food processing plants and sugar mills and in agriculture and construction. The smuggling seems to be very sophisticated and is on a scale larger than people backpacking across the mountains.
For this operation, which is clearly driven by American employers of undocumented labor, the effort should be focused on the American employers. Put two or three chicken plant owners in jail and we will see the funding for smugglers tighten up considerably.
