What is the basis/benefit for all of these advertisers having interracial couples

I'm probably just being naive, but what benefit do these businesses get from showing something that isn't the norm? When I was growing up, advertising always involved trying to appeal to the most people as possible, not catering to one specific group.

Consider who / what colleges are producing for the country's work force today, as that's where all this starts, the universities today. Jordan Peterson has been lecturing on the dangers of universities today, calling them the biggest danger to society today.

When they all try to be shocking and "woke", the ones not doing it are now the ones that are shocking and memorable.
I am in a "mixed" marriage of 30+ years. I see nothing wrong with it, but I do see an issue when companies disproportionately force it down peoples throats. Some of our friends, a "non-mixed" couple were watching tv and asked the same question, why every commercial? It is dumb, but I guess the marketing firms just follow a cookie cutter formula and few are really very innovative.

Attracts more than one demographic if you buy the theory that people are more likely to buy a product from someone who "looks like me" (and research has shown it to be - to an extent - true).

I don't really understand any of it, but it would be great if they didn't air two dudes kissing every other commercial. I'd be fine foregoing all the kissing on TV if it meant no gays kissing. That dovato commercial comes on like every 5 minutes locally.

It also pisses off a lot of people. In particular, black females who get really angry when black men date white women.
Also, black males tend to be pissed when black women date or marry white men.
btw, my marriage is snow white me and pretty brown skin Hispanic lady. We haven't seen any issues from the Hispanic community. Only a few from white community and none, in regard to our marriage, from the black community.

I believe that it is the advertising agencies more than the companies. A company usually wants to appeal to everyone, but that isn't really what is being sold. These agencies are saying you need to appeal to these underserved markets, look at what your competition is doing. All the while, serving an agenda. If they were really wanting to serve the Black markets, it certainly wouldn't be with what they are putting out. Watch some black centric channels or late local television and you will see that the only people noticing the different actors are White. They are ethnic enough to appeal to the Libs and whitewashed enough to not affect the White consumer who has the majority of discretionary funds. If they were really trying to appeal to ethnic audiences, the commercials would all be in Spanish. This is just a way for Woke advertisers to feel better about themselves and everyone else feels offended just enough to still spend their money.

This is probably the answer. That and someone in charge at their company might have a mixed couple in their family or friend circle and they want to "virtue signal" to them or maybe, they think it might help them while not realizing it is probably hurting as people get sick of having it force fed them.

Also in an IR marriage (only 11 years for us so far). My issue is with the second part of your first sentence. What is the appropriate "proportion?" Are independent companies supposed to hold a summit every year to decide on the percentage of ads that should feature couples such as ours?
Also, I think there's a bit of confirmation bias (i.e., you're thinking about buying a certain car, and suddenly you notice that make/model car everywhere) that goes on in discussions such at these RE: advertising content. Of course IR couples have been featured more over the years (the past 15 years, specifically--the Cheerios ad that caused such a kerfuffle was in '07 or '08, if memory serves), but I don't really see that as a "forcing" down anyone's throats. Hell, most ads are skippable nowadays

The black lady who has it all together marrying the white dude who's a clueless cuck seems to be the hottest trend in virtue signal advertising these days.

It saves on costs (not having to cast a white couple AND a black couple, if they are wanting to make a strong appeal to both) and it makes them look appropriately "woke" to the Leftist elites who run the media (Hollywood, print, advertising, etc).

Do they really have options when every ad agency is full of woke?

Honestly? The folks in advertising that put together these campaigns have an ideal that they would like to present, whether that ideal is overly prevalent in society or not... The companies just buy in by running the ads...

Regarding my point on confirmation bias in advertising from my previous post, I made a thread last year on racial demographics in Super Bowl ads. Might be illuminating, might be nothing, but it was interesting to look at ads specifically for such, rather than just happening to notice on the fly.

This is why I LOVE the Duluth Trading company ads.
I think they just have a few dudes sitting around, drinking beer and drawing things up on a grease board.

It's all about the kids, seeing this every minute, everyday conditions them to believe that this is the norm. It's part of a master plan to blend all races into one. I don't care who marries whom, but interracial marriages are a small % of the total. The number that you see in commercials is way out of proportion. This is not by accident.
