Why do you think it would blow my mind? I have long thought the same thing.

Whats really going to blow your mind is that if Trump ran as a Democrat, he would have won Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan and North Carolina in addition to every Liberal leaning state in the country.

That's true.

LOL. He'd have made Obama's victories seems half assed.

Then you have come to the conclusion he is an excellent presidential candidate. Are you finally accepting him as your president?

Since you clearly agree that Trump isn't exactly a radical right winger, what do you think it says about his liberal opponents that they seem oblivious to this reality?

If you'd have told Democrats in the year 2000 that THEIR candidate would be the one making fun of the idea of pushing to rebuild the manufacturing base and the other guy would be the one selling it...........they'd have laughed at you like you'd suggested Bill Clinton was a Lizard Alien.

It's an interesting question. The speculation was always if he would run as a Republican or a third party candidate. The main reason for that is his appeal was based largely around immigration and America first, two issues that are kryptonite to Dems. If it was thirty years ago maybe. He could have just as easily run third party and ensured Democratic victory.

What's your definition of "Always" here? I ask because under Clinton, the Democrats were giving speeches on the floor of the House and Senate that sounded like retroactive plagiarism of Trump's 2016 speeches.

the large field of GOP candidates definitely helped Trump win - he was one of the few candidates that stood out in anyway with the rest splitting votes. He was able to win or place highly in early primaries with relatively small numbers of votes.

The GOP candidates obsession with "winning their lanes" was flat out retarded and destined for failure when one candidate was sucking up all the oxygen and air time in the room. By the time it got down to 3-5 candidates, it was too late and there was no stopping Trump at all as inertia had already set in and there was nothing Rubio and Cruz could do.

The GOP failing to stop Trump winning the nomination is a great example of a collective action problem. Fortunately, the DNC saved them by nominating the worst candidate of all time in Hillary Clinton and the rest is history.

The DNC nomination process
Yeah, people don't decide who gets the Democrat Party nomination, the DNC does.

Only way Trump gets the Democrat nomination is if the DNC wants Trump to get the nomination. The people don't have a say.

Remember, even almighty Hillary was screwed out of delegate votes that would have put her in front of Obama because the DNC decided it wanted Obama to get the nomination.

I have always accepted him as my President. Doesn't mean I cannot knock him if he makes a mistake just like I would any other President.

I don't think they are oblivious to any reality.

They simply don't want taxes slashed on the wealthy and many people to lose health care.

If the darned coot would simply have more self discipline, stop tweeting at 2am and read up on the issues he could be a great President. He is his own biggest enemy.

It's six months in and he still hasn't hired the very important people he needs to surround himself with.

He is killing his own Presidency because he is so helter-skelter.

Speaking of which.

As a person who has long been fascinated with Game Theory, it seemed readily apparent to me that Trump was absolutely aware he was involved in such a situation and manipulated his opponents into opting for strategies that benefited him.

Think about it.

The reality is, Trump probably loses in a 3 man race if the 3 man race occurred early. So. What does he do? He literally infuriates opponents into staying IN the race for as long as possible.

I don't think that shite was an accident at all.

Reagan. Bush. Every other Republican alive would have had such an approach.

This also doesn't explain the reaction.

They don't disagree with him. They SINCERELY believe they are opposing Hitler.

I mean, come on. Surely you can acknowledge that.

There's a reason trump ran on the republican ticket. But it would offend too many people here to explain why.

He made the only choice he had to have a chance.

I still have a hard time believing he really wanted to win though.I just figured it was a publicity stunt for him to ride to another tv show...go figure..

What if...

I like eastern Europe. Make it western Europe and I am on board.

It would be interesting to see them in a NATO like club with him so we could see what happens when they try to mooch their defense off him. He might not take them.
