Here's an article that may shed some light on false negatives/positives for rapid flu test and the more accurate lab test. I was curious about the subject myself.

It's getting harder and harder for them to make up lies that it wasn't here last year; there are too many people that had it.

Five weeks ago, youngest son (17) went to doctor, then emergency room. Dry, unproductive cough so bad it made his throat raw. Fever of up to 103°. Tested negative for flu, negative for strep. Prescribed antibiotics. Slowly cleared up after 2 weeks.

As soon as his cleared up 3 weeks ago, wife got sick. Same symptoms. Throat went so raw she was throwing up spotty blood after coughing fits. Went to two doctors and three emergency rooms in three days. Multiple strep tests, multiple flu tests- all negative. Chest xray for pneumonia also negative. CT scan of throat normal, showing only irritation. Blood work only showed slight elevated white count and potassium a shade low but within range.

Big hospital in Tulsa did the most testing. Discharged with diagnosis of "unspecified chest and throat pain". Prescribed strong antibiotic and high dose prednisone. Wife was still sick two weeks and is just now getting back close to 100%.

2 others in household, myself and daughter. Neither of us have had any signs, symptoms, or indications of possible illness.

...

Been telling the wife for two weeks that I think her and the son both had the CV19 and made it through. At first she laughed at me but the more news she watches and reads with me, she also believes it now.

Wife doesn't do real well with illnesses. She's tough but gets much less tough when sick. Son is about to graduate and head to Basic at Ft. L. Wood. He's tough as nails and I've never seen anything get him down the way this did, not even close. They both survived just fine, but whatever the hell it was made them feel like they were choking and dying, and medical professionals could not diagnose specifically.

I don't think it's a coincidence.

I've only had the flu once in my life but a get at least one or two colds every year for as long as I can remember with fever, sneezing, cough, hocking big fat raw oyster like loogies at the end of each cold, etc.

I had what I thought was the flu or a really really bad cold in early February. I had a typical fever in the 101 degree range with an extremely aggressive and annoying cough that I could not for the life of me hock up the usual loogies I normally do with the countless colds I normally get. I tested negative for the flu and strep. The cough I had was annoyingly dry. I didn't have the normal head and upper respiratory "flem" and congestion I usually have for the numerous bad colds I get every year. The only symptom I had that wasn't typical of the coronavirus was that I did sneeze a lot but the CDC guidelines for coronavirus say that's not unusual in some of the cases.

Bottom line is that I'm convinced that I had the coronavirus in early February and maybe as early as early December because the symptoms both times were nearly identical. I've never experienced that kind of aggressive dry unproductive cough to the point of gagging and almost throwing up that lingered for another week or two after the "cold" symptoms disappeared. The severity of the dry cough was a son of a bitch but despite being a 45 year old in average health to slightly below average health I was never in need of serious medical attention. I could see where what I had would be problematic with elderly (75 and older) and even younger people with severe asthma, COPD, or other very serious lung issues but not for someone even remotely healthy.

I described my symptoms to my girlfriend whose daughter is a nurse and her daughter is convinced I had the coronavirus in early February. I missed 3 days of work and felt shitty but never felt the need to go to the doctor to get help.

The severity of this virus is completely overblown unless you very old or you have a serious undelying respiratory or heart condition

Back in November my temp hit 105 to 106. Had a cough that kept me up all night, coughing so hard almost to the point of throwing up. Dr said respiratory virus, gave me some Tylenol and sent me home. No further tests, just something that was “going around”

The more I think about it the more I think this shite has been around a lot longer than we thought

Within 2 days of returning home we both got a sore throat and incessant dry cough that we couldn’t seem to get to be productive. The sore throat was gone in a day or two but the cough lasted into mid December prompting family members to comment about our continued coughs.

Wow. Youre story is remarkably similar to mine. Went to Biloxi Friday, almost 2 weeks ago. Came back home to louisiana the following day but that Monday, started with sore throat and dry cough, aches and pains but no fever that ive found that has been going on for a week and half now. Went to dr, received a steroid shot and some antibiotics which helped kick the sore throat for a day or so then it came right back. Called doc again and he prescribed a oral steroid. Still feel the mild sore throat, dry cough after being on these meds for 3 days. The cough was so bad it got me to the point i was dry heaving which i honestly haven't thrown up in probably over 10 years. frick you Biloxi

It should not be difficult to create a titer test for Covid 19. My wife thinks we both got it earlier this year, I don't know, my memory of symptoms when I get sick is pretty shitty.

I do think we have been living with this for a while and I think titer results would be very interesting and could quite possibly show that this is being blown completely out of proportion.

For what purpose?

To show it’s been here and this hysteria is bullshite. There’s not even 10k deaths worldwide. Over 4 months of outbreak. This math does not make sense. There is no over estimating the deaths. There are bodies. What’s the odds we’re underestimating the number of cases? High. This would be how you prove it.

I went to the er due to the flu in January. I was really dehydrated is the ultimate reason I went but I tested negative for the flu. Yet I had all the symptoms. Dr said he had lots of the same cases and 25% were testing negative. Makes you think.

Someone posted a graph of non-flu respiratory illnesses in the US. It was interesting. But I’m skeptical still.
