Fizzled out. Promised 2 Trillion in cuts and ended up with like 180 Billion.

House Republicans seem to not want to codify any of the cuts so this was all for nothing really and nothing was changed.

Yeah and government workers are still working from home.

I don't understand why this bothers anyone. I worked from home from 2016 until 2021 and am still allowed to WFH whenever I need. My boss is aware of my productivity and my output has never wavered.

If there are people abusing WFH privilege (obviously the individual should hold themselves accountable), then it's up to the management team to identify the slackers and cut them loose based on performance. This shite isn't hard.

Yeah lots of waste and some things called waste that are more functions of scaled operations (like the software license examples).

Very little fraud. But then the echo chamber spun waste into fraud, and the NPCs ran with it

I wouldn't take the political phraseology "waste, fraud and abuse" so literally. Some fraud may be morally wrong than legally wrong too.

I'm guessing this is your first time listening to him?

You have to understand that due to geography and massive shift in demographics around 2019-2020, there are a lot of posters on this board now who work manual labor/trade jobs or in petro and they must be on site to work.

Then look at the demographics of age, where this is seen as a "Millennial" thing (when Millennials can be 40+ and I imagine many people making these comments are millennials or close to it).

Then the random echo chamber/mob mentality in addition to that probably gets you a substantial chunk of the rest.

Because a lot of government employees that work from home are not busy enough with their government job that they occupy their government time with hobbies or other jobs.

I don't think that's fair but he does operate in a way where he fails until he succeeds. He is constantly making mistakes and correcting course, like a software developer hammering out code. The thing with Elon is that you have to determine if his north star on the topic aligns with yours. If it does he will eventually get the results you want.

It's an approach I noticed Trump adopting in this second term as well.

All they can do is point out the fraud and abuse.

Which they have not done at all. Why do people keep forgetting this part?

There's been exactly zero fraud related to any doge findings. Not a single arrest or charge, nothing, nada, zero.

Abuse is subjective and even that would be hard to sell, they've wildly overpromised and didn't come anywhere even close to what they talked about.

But put ALL of that aside, here is the only thing that actually matters, the bottom line (which is ultimatley why they're so quiet). On that, they've failed SPECTACULARLY...

Same. But we were told by China John that WFH should be abolished everywhere, not just government.

Plus all the backlash on Elon probably made them stop tweeting about everything they find.
They found much less fraud than they predicted. Perhaps the administration wants them to lie low until they find something.

Talk about conflating things. They dont have authority to arrest anyone or press charges.

They have found plenty of fraud already. Fraud doesn't require arrests be made.

Over the last 3 days, agencies have terminated 262 wasteful contracts with a ceiling value of $1.2B and savings of $230M, including a $13.8M marketing research DEI contract to provide “analytical and initiative support on building the case for health equity”.

This right here. That's all it ever was. A light and sound show for MAGA and not much more.

"Waste, fraud and abuse", we were told. Well I'm not a lawyer but I think fraud is a crime, and if what DOGE tells us is true, then an outright felony.

Here we have the Musker and his disciples tossing around the word fraud, and not one single arrest, indictment, prosecution or whatever else but maybe I've missed it. If so, please point it out.

They are identifying so much dumb wanton waste it's ridiculous. Once they identify all this wasteful spending then they can follow the money, but I wouldn't expect anything that directly accuses or implicates fraud to be publicized so freely.

This was the whole world being bribed to keep the same system going that has been running for 80 years. Basically, since the end of WW2.

That scam is over. It will take time to see the change in the country.
But things are changing.

The irony of the doge stans perfectly summarized.

quote:

They dont have authority to arrest anyone or press charges.

Nobody thinks doge is a law enforcement agency. Their job is to find it and turn it over to authorities who will then go after these people. Specifically coming from doge findings, they've found absolutley nothing to date..

quote:

They have found plenty of fraud already. Fraud doesn't require arrests be made.

Sure plenty, if you have no idea what the definition of fraud is.....
