Depends who's doing the blaming, I suppose.

Thiel was really the brains of PayPal and maneuvered to have Musk’s bad ideas get pushed aside frequently. Elon has used his windfall from PayPal for some great things but he’s just a money guy at this juncture.

Some people value having the money to enable things, especially the scientists and engineers doing the real work, but I’d be congratulating those guys for this rescue.

If I knew their names, I would.

When people are touting Musk's SpaceX, I doubt they are doing so without regard for the hundreds (thousands?) of sharp minds and brilliant talent that make these things happen.

But lest anyone be confused, I congratulate ALL SpaceX employees, all NASA that worked with them, all four astro/cosmo nauts that came out of that capsule, the dude that climbed on top of the capsule to harness it, the people that egressed the 'nauts, the flight surgeon checking them out, whoever stitched the flag emblems on the suits, the makers of their space diapers, etc...

Wouldn't you agree that it'd be weird for me to claim he was a great quarterback or linebacker?

Elon was commanding and piloting that capsule, running the control room, wrote the code for and designed all the systems for both, and even prepared their welcome meal.

Everyone else at SpaceX is just there so Elon can stay humble in the media.

Seeing people actually anguish over Elon’s success is so interesting.

Everyone involved did something amazing. It’s no easy feat to do rocketry much less human spacecrafts. Elon’s put his money into something laudable.

Then it shouldn't have been difficult for the intellectual titan DislodgedBrowneye to aggregate talent and create his own multi-billion-dollar companies. Right?

Instead, he struggles to hire a dependable fry cook at his McD job.
