Well the irony is that our national monoculture developed as illegal immigration exploded

Because there were no legal
Italian
Irish
Cuban
Hispanic
Immigrants.
Nope.
Just illegals, apparently.

So your argument is that non-illegal immigrants caused our monoculture developing while illegal immigration exploded?

Illegal aliens and/or invaders.

None of these things are true of the vast majority of illegals who come from Latin America. Keep the Muslims out, but if we cannot turn around our sinking birth rates, we will be fortunate to have such innocuous immigrants as Latinos.

One of those things is actually true. Only one third of Latino illegal immigrants are proficient in English upon entering the US.
72% of Latinos in the US are proficient in English, which shows assimilation. We are extremely lucky that the immigration that naturally comes ashore in the US is Christian. If we can avoid the self-inflicted wounds of letting in Muslims or uneducated Indians, and replace the illegal Latino immigration with legal, selective immigration, we will be in good shape.

You’ll never get a correct answer from the people this is directed at. They purposefully confuse words. Case in point:
lib·er·al
/'lib(?)r?l/
adjective
1.
willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas.

Hint - it’s not people who can’t read and don’t speak English

Culturally, the differences pale in comparison to Muslims when compared to the US, but don’t let the smooth taste fool you. America is filled with ethic barrios and surrounding communities that are nearly indistinguishable from the average South American street market. That’s not assimilating.
That said, it doesn’t scare me as much as the Muslims. They are politically dangerous whereas Latin culture is fairly politically benign and sort of badass in many ways.

That’s going to happen when you let in too many too fast. But stop the immigration and they will assimilate. Also, enforce English proficiency for citizenship.
In the late 80’s there was a guy named Peter Brimelow who predicted all of this. He appeared in National Review’s pages and on Firing Line debates. He kept emphasizing the need to pause immigration to allow assimilation. That guy was dead right. And those who opposed, like Ira Glasser, were dead wrong.

I'm pretty sure this thread means "white."

If 20 million Russians crossed the border in the middle of the night we would call it an invasion.
This was no different.

Nope. All mine either legally came here, or we already here when Europeans arrived.
