Am I supposed to do anything?

Is it ok to say I am too busy to do much because I am raising my teenagers and trying to put them through school? or is language too privilegely?

Can I am mail a check somewhere and we all feel better about ourselves?

How about a criminal justice system that is bias against people of color particularly African Americans?

why should we accept this premise when we know a great many crimes are being committed by 'people of color'

your question should be, how do we keep the law enforcement out of our neighborhoods?

when whites see the law coming to a house all the time (across the street), its usually domestic violence or drugs

everyone is praying that BS is dealt with

when you see the law in your neighborhood all the time it's time to move so you have better neighbors

the law, just so everyone is clear, get's a phone call "to come out"

they don't just show up..."somebody did something"...if everyone is black in that area, guess who is .....

so I reject the premise of your request...it defies what's actually happening relative to "breaking the law"

again, it goes back to parenting...all of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah people don’t always have a choice when they interact with the criminal justice system and interactions shouldn’t be biased against African Americans on the basis of race. There is plenty of evidence that too often that interactions are driven by race. It is a problem. Doesn’t mean there to other issues but that is a significant one here.

The want “equal representation” at a minimum, in every position of power, authority, business, etc. regardless of qualification.

Except sports and entertainment.

I’m all for strengthening the education system and providing real opportunities and community resources. But it takes a generation to make a change from within so that the next generation is set up to be successful. And politicians don’t actually seem to care enough to really help and be honest with what social changes required to escape poverty. They just throw dumb money and say “I’m woke”

The problem is the black community by and large wants to live in this victim mentality. They don't really want things to change because if they did they would tackle the problems internal to their communities. Instead of trying to make all their internal problems everyone's problem.

They want equal outcomes. They haven’t been able to achieve that as a race despite equal opportunity.

They want equal representation when they are only 12% of the population? How exactly is that fair. Talk about disenfranchising everyone else.

They want a big fat check every month for sitting on their arse all day and call it reparations. What they DON’T want is to have to take any personal responsibility for their own lives, it’s much easier to just blame whitey. The sad shite is we as white people are letting them get away with it over fear of being labeled a racist when in reality black people, most prominently black women, are the biggest racists of all.

If black parents are really teaching their kids how to not get killed by the police, then they have been doing a terrible job.

For 25 years, corporations have been actively diversifying from top to bottom, their organizations. That's practically a generation.

For those same 25 years, affirmative action has been doing the same thing across all federal government departments.

For those same 25 years, federal, state, and local governments have made a priority to award contracts to minority-owned businesses.

Many institutional systemic changes have been made, and continue.

At what point does an objective observer conclude that handouts and preferential treatment have either succeeded, or failed?

I would say the preferential treatment succeeded. There's a huge middle class of black people that didn't exist 25 years ago.

Me being from ATL which is known for black wealth might be inappropriately affected my perspective though.

My position- with everything that has been done for black people over the last 25 years, if you are still poor and ignorant, that's a you problem. That's not a society or police problem. It's sure as hell not a white people problem.

Exactly. Once we elected a black president with a Muslim name, you’d think we had gotten past all this. Not to mention the numerous black mayors, judges, DAs, police chiefs, etc. Yet here we still are, pretending the KKK is on the hunt for black men.

It is true that Jim Crow is within living memory. But what’s disappointing is the younger generation who’ve never known real prejudice are still so angry. And the hordes of white people who encourage such anger.

What do blacks want America to change?

I'm not exactly "down with the struggle" but I think it's pretty easy to see that that vast majority of black people, especially young black men, have a different life experience in this country from white people.

If you set aside the white liberals pretending to talk for black america, and the black race pimps pretending to talk for black america, I think it's pretty easy to figure it out.

They want to not be harassed by the police and by the "cross the street when you see a black person" types

They want decent schooling

They want opportunities for success

They want a cohesive family unit

The first thing is something white america can and should help with. The second one is a shared responsibility. The third and fourth, white american can help, but it has to come from black america, they have to be willing to police themselves.

Modern black culture only values the opinions of successful blacks who are entertainers AND leftists. Any deviations from that mold get discarded as lucky uncle toms.

That's the problem.

Then quite committing crimes and dealing drugs.

[quote]They want decent schooling [quote]

Only 19% of Dayton public school graduate High School, they give a shite about school, they don't even go.

[quote] They want opportunities for success[quote]

LOl, really affirmative action ring a bell. There is no job, school, or hobby that prevents black people from doing what they want.

[quote]
They want a cohesive family unit[quote] Fine, then do it, what do white people have to do with a black mom and dad being married with kids???

If you want to fix the black community, quite having kids out of wedlock............PERIOD! Everything stems from the father figure, ANY sociologist or psychologist will tell you kids that grow up with out a father are WAY more likely to get in trouble.

I could get behind BLM if not for the hypocrisy. Don't tell me I must support, but I can't understand. Or tell me to "check my priviledge" until you think it's valuable to your cause. Get out of my multi-cultural center but come to my rally. Don't rally for #BLM then kill at least three black LEOs in your riots. Or that flags are just "things", but the statues must come down.

...its seems there is a connection...

Perception or stereotypes carry weight in judgment. Fairly or unfair...yes it happens

Too much stick together mindset when there is no prior relationship with a victim who happens to be a felon
