Wanted to be more specific. What are the chances of another candidate.

I personally am confused all the Dems are freaking out. We saw nothing surprising last night. What did they think was going to happen? If anything he was better than he is in most of his speeches (not saying much). As it stands right now, if Biden is the candidate, America is in a really good spot. The media is now campaigning against him. If they thought he could run 2 years ago, I don’t see what last night did to change that other than people haven’t been paying attention for 2 years. So with the media against him, if he runs, the Democrats are royally frickED.

Before you say they’re planning for Michelle Obama, I don’t see her running. She’s got an easy life with arena tours, money and invincibility. Why would she go through 4 years of round the clock misery just to take a step down to being a polarizing hated figure by half the country, from being a media darling. It just wouldn’t make sense.

That leaves Newsom, in which case, all Trump would have to do is tweet “The Democrats are so racist that they chose a white guy who ruined California over a black woman” a few hundred times to subliminally paint the Dems as racist. Beat the Dems at their own game because that shite is literally all they care about anyway.

Kamala has no shot. She’s a drunk and she’s old news. Not positive, but I would think that a lot of the glass ceiling crowd would consider a Kamala presidency a forced formality. Most of them will still do it, but there will be little to no enthusiasm, there’s no novelty there.

Can Biden refuse to step down? How does this work? And is 3 months or so even enough time to campaign, for anyone?

I think pretty good tbh.

This message is coming from the top down. Joe doesn’t want to go toe to toe with global shot callers. Just ask Trump what they can do.

Unless Joe is ready to drop significant dirt he’s toast.

Depends on Trump's immunity case.

If ruling helps Trump, he steps down soon. Hangs on long enough for them to move money (or reassure big money) and get the pieces in place.

If ruling leaves Trump wide open to Jack Smith (and possibly Fani), then he won't step down.

... because either MO or TX is going to prosecute him as soon as he's not the head of the Executive any longer.

I think there is about a 100% chance

They will offer Dr Jill a massive amount of money to pull him out. If she refuses, there will be a medical incident that prevents him from running.

The real question is who is the replacement and will that person create civil war within the lunatic left.

And do they even care. They stole one election, they believe they can steal another

Joe Manchin is kicking himself right now.

BUT... if he is on ballot, the DNC can pay him off and reunite with him, their rules allow it. Will it work is the only question. He can add to his Mr. T starter kit of gold chains if they pay him enough.

While he should step down, there is absolutely no way he will do it. Like all politicians his ego, his staff (who would lose their jobs), and his desire to hang on will not let him do it. If he does, it's only going to be because he was forced.

The answer to your above questions is.... None of that matters. If the Dems want another candidate (they do), they will get one.
Rules, ethics, morals, laws, mean nothing to the Dems (as we have seen repeatedly the last 8 years).

Biden never was going to be the candidate. It will be Newsome and ????. I know Michelle Obama has repeatedly said she isn't interested but..... she as president and Newsome as VP make perfect sense. It works.

Biden steps down 100%. The media was given their marching orders last night to bring Biden down. The same media who spent all week saying Biden wasn’t to old and stupid conservatives were the victim of cheap, fake videos.

Who will replace him: 33% Gavin N. Good looking, young, polished, the college educated women will flock to him. Black people will vote for whom they are told and the media will campaign for him.

Whitmer 33%: She is a woman, and while not as polished as Gavin she will run a decent campaign and the media will also campaign for her.

Someone else 33%.

As conservatives we are celebrating today but the path to the White House gets tougher with Biden out.

Perusing twitter makes me smile at all the dolts standing with Biden.. the lemmings marching towards the cliff

I think they’re going to double down and get back in line but focus more on congress. Viability this late in the game for any new candidate is asking a lot. Newsom is probably their best hope but he’s got plenty of shite in the trunk to unpack and he’d probably rather focus on 28

I just checked my OFA fund raising emails from the Dems.
They are excited! They say that donations are streaming in because the debate showed what a horrible person Trump is and voters can't wait for Biden to defeat him. Trump proved he was "a racist xenophobe out to destroy democracy."
So, the strategy is to focus on the anti-Trump message and don't even mention Biden.

not that his state of the union was anything to write home about, BUT, last night he wasn't even in the same planet as that speech......so even though we mostly know he's brain dead, they were holding out hope and truth and reality smacked them down.

It’s obvious that the ruling blob now has to deep-six “Joe Biden.” The problem is they must induce him to renounce the nomination of his own will. The party’s nominating process is so bizarrely complex that it would very difficult to just shove him out. Another problem is that the party had to peremptorily declare “JB” their legal nominee before the August convention in order to keep him on the ballot in Ohio with its 17 electoral votes (due to some arcane machinery in the state’s election laws).

As per above, the debate fiasco calls into serious question whether “Joe Biden” is competent to even serve out this term. He (or shadowy figures pulling strings behind him) are making profoundly hazardous decisions right now, such as last week’s missile attack that killed and wounded civilians on the beach in Crimea. Are you seeing how easily “Joe Biden” might start World War Three? All of which is to say that pressure will soon rise to use the 25th amendment to relieve him of duty, leaving you-know-who in the oval office. If Joe Biden actually has to resign as president, he also loses the ability to pardon his son, Hunter, and peremptorily his other family members who shared bribery money received from China, Ukraine, and elsewhere.

If he won’t resign, and the party can’t force him off the ticket, the blob could have no choice except to bump him off. I imagine they would get it done humanely, say late at night sometime, in bed, using the same method as for putting down an old dog who has peed on the carpet one too many times. Or, if that can’t be managed and he clings to his position, maybe the party could cobble up some new nominating rules impromptu. And then, who could they slot in from the bench?
