I think free speech is being misused in this sentence.

No, he didn't. SOP for Progressive voters.

Quit giving people that want you dead the benefit of the doubt. They are evil.

We are talking about protests, organizations, and faculty on campus calling for genocide (that's a call for mass murder of a race of people for those Ivy Leaguers who are apparently unaware).
You do realize this has not actually happened on any of these campuses right? The whole basis is that hypothetically wouldn't it be bad if people called for genocide

Isn't the board the ones who picked this person in the first place?

How do you come to the conclusion that this has anything to do with 'free speech'?

He's confusing free speech with idiotic speech.

Was she arrested or otherwise punished by the government for it?

If not… can you now understand your fail?

what a fricking idiot you are. She isnt exercising her free speech. We all know how she personally feels about Jews. That isnt at issue here. She was testifying under oath in her capacity as university president and answering specific questions about how the university handles hate speech under their codes of conduct.

You are such a dishonest hack.

This is an idiotic comment.

You can be 100% for free speech and still not want the face of your organization saying stupid things WHILE speaking on behalf of your organization.

You are either an incredibly disingenuous troll, or truly an idiot.

Did she not testify as the president of the college ? I may agree with you if she was just talking with friends. When she represents the college what she says is not free speech it’s her job . Workers can’t go to work and say what ever they want at work then sue the company for firing them .

It always amazes me how so many people have absolutely zero understanding of what the 1st amendment protects us from.

You have exposed yourself as a complete moron, OP.

I liked it when the issue of 'context' was tossed into the mix.

Like 'I'm for free speech when it agrees with my pre-existing beliefs and want to punish others when I disagree.'

So totes consistent!

Clearly the testimony they gave was coerced in an effort to appease someone or something. No one in their right mind would say what they did and mean it.

That’s the puzzling part. Who is behind this? Or, are they so insulted in their own bubble, they are oblivious. Both are scary.

Take a look at what they're cranking out into the workforce, government and society sometime.
