It will be interesting to see how those on the right who are huge free speech guys will react to this.

All of those schools rank poorly, basically at the bottom, of FIRE's free speech rankings. None of this is surprising.

How do you come to the conclusion that this has anything to do with 'free speech'?

I'm 100% free speech, however speech has consequences, even the supreme court has agreed. No matter what you say you should be free from criminal or violent charges, and that is playing out here.

Listening to some actual Jewish students in Washington demonstrates how weak and ineffective she is at managing a crisis.. ultimate failure from the leading voice of a university of Penn’s stature..

It will be interesting to see if those on the left can come up with a more idiotic angle than that one.

Right. No one is suggesting that there be criminal penalties here. You can be for free speech and understand that it has consequences for employment.

She doesn't recognize it as a 'crisis'. She sees it as justified payback.

Replace Jews with Black and ask her if the students would be expelled.

I'm lost on your logic.

The same institutions that demand purity declarations on diversity now get to hide behind "free speech" when refusing to denounce statements in support of genocide?

I’m (mostly) not pro-Israel at all but the inability of these educated idiots to say “please don’t chant “kill the Jews,’” is wild to me.

I think Shapiro is full of shite when he thinks anything anti-Israel or anti-Zionist is antisemitic, but there were literally people saying “gas the Jews”

I’m more interested to hear what those on the left that aren’t big free speech guys have to say about it.

I donr care what he says, but tax dollars should not go to these money whore idiolog cesspool. The bloat in these schools is unreal.

A professor working 4 freaking classes a semester getting 200k is dumb. For the most part it is the same topics for each class over and over as well.

Most aren’t being paid just to teach classes. And the bloat has little to do with professors anyway. The bast majority of the bloat relates to administrators.

Well ... let's see.

We are talking about protests, organizations, and faculty on campus calling for genocide (that's a call for mass murder of a race of people for those Ivy Leaguers who are apparently unaware). Calls for genocide whether it be of Jews, Catholics, or any group crosses the "yelling fire in a crowded theater" threshold.
Does it not?

By that same measuring stick, how does accidentally misgendering someone who desires pleural reference rate? How does proclaiming support for Trump rate? Because on all three campuses the latter examples are considered "unsafe" and unacceptable.

That is a synopsis of the absurdity of your free speech quip.

Go stand on a table in the cafeteria and shout the N word, we'll see how tolerant they are of "free speech"
