Well This Ruined My Day: Hundreds of Doggos Starved/Dehydrated in Ukrainian Pet Shelter

I've gotten desensitized to war human on human brutality, it seems. I love animals, I can't imagine how the handlers of the shelter didn't bother to let doggos out to give them a fighting chance. I don't get it, even if they were meant to be put down this is a terrible way to euthanize an animal.
Ignorance probably is bliss.I don't think I'm doing myself much good reading news daily. World sucks, nature is nature, but we somehow find a find to contribute to making it worse at times.

I don't know if I have a political angle here. I don't know if anyone can really be blamed, but we as a specie.
Chinese are the worst at animal cruelty, I can say that. The inhumane animal killings they do are too morbid to even list here. I still have images in my head from a decade ago. Sadist fricks the bunch of them.

thats a shame and its very sad.
someone should have just opened the doors and let them free to survive on their own
there are always horrors in every war but people often get more pissed when animals suffer yet dont really GAF when people suffer

We put them in there, at very least we have to let them out to have some chance of survival.

Which makes it plausible that the zoo in Kiev is talking about killing their big cats because if the zoo is hit by explosives, the cats could escape and start eating people.

Ever since my wife and I got a puppy at the end of 2020, I really get upset when I see or hear about a dog being mistreated.
Of course that tiny, helpless 18-lb creature is now a 100+ lb monster, but he's still the same innocent bundle of energy he was when we first met him.

I love dogs but the value we place on animal life is pretty arbitrary. Cattle , pigs and chickens are treated to some pretty horrific conditions but we don't think about it because we eat beef, pork and chicken.
Cruelty for cruelty's sake is a different story but at least the Chinese eat the dogs.
Kosher slaughter seems cruel to a lot of people too.
