I consider both parties reaction to deficit and debt to be demonstrably worse, as both are exactly the same. I’m not advocating “well let’s try the other side for a while”, as the other side is the same.

Within Trump's own admin there are multiple voices. For an example look at the diesel export ban fiasco from yesterday.
Trump or one of his advisors came up with a retarded plan.
Ultimately, those with better policies and economic understanding had to wrestle Trump away from the retardation.

It’s not going to be socialism, but long-term, with the rise of AI and automation, you’re going to have to have some sort of UBI system because you’re not going to be able to maintain gainful employment for the majority of your population.

This ignores things like primaries.
The Senate race shitshow in Texas is a great example of this. There was a better option than Paxton in that second, binary scenario. Now it's terrible Paxton v. terrible Talafreako, and the DEM has a good chance to win

What’s not working for them? I see many young people who don’t buy into the woe is me you just described, acquiring wealth and homes at a younger age then it took myself and others my age. The ones I believe you are describing are the ones I am referring to being taught, that it’s not working and you should not have to work so hard to gain wealth, buy a home, get a good job, free healthcare, etc. the schools are full of professors and teachers pushing socialism and Marxism. To claim they have faded out due to time is laughable.
People that continuously hear the drum beat start to tap their toes in sync even if they are not intently listening. So, with the rise of social media and propaganda being blasted constantly on those sites it absolutely can and does influence thinking.
However, I have nephews, nieces, and my own kids who have surpassed me and others my age, and they are all under 40. Why? Because they didn’t buy into the garbage that things aren’t working. No, they chose to work hard and be more strategic in the paths they took. I see their friends doing the same.

SFP and Roger have warned 10,000 times that right populism could easily flip left (Trump has a bunch of Dem tendencies, anyway, to begin with). Bernie was too old to get over the hump and the Dems rigged things against him, but the concern with Bernie is a charming young Dem would come along with his message and win.

In general, the electorate is incredibly stupid so that’s not an excuse especially when the same people who crap on them are repeatedly reelected. Most Americans are accustomed to a comfortable life and will cling to any politician that promises to keep that going regardless of the cost, that cost is becoming too expensive.
