To me asking God to damn the country you live in = a lack of assimilation. And no, I understand that it's not the viewpoint of every single black person in the country and any of this has to be assessed on an individual basis, but it's definitely a thing. Has been since the early 60s.

His support for Roy Cooper was the catalyst that lead to his firing I should have said. Not that support alone.
