Niger.
what a dumb name for an african country
They should change it, along with the name of the river from which it takes its name. Hell, it's only been around since the 1550s. They should have anticipated American racial politics 400 years in their future.

My cousin was stationed in Niger, among several other shithole African countries. The photos reinforce everything you think.

Niger has been ruled unofficially by France ever since the country was given its independence. The military got tired of the rulers screwing over its own people and staged a coup.

The time line is for elections in three years.

France was asked/told to leave. At first they didn't.

The USA has not been asked to leave. We are there fighting islamic terrorist bringing Chaos to the country.

Our military has stopped military actions and is just flying drones used for information like making sur that the base is not about to be attacked.

The USA has done the right thing for once. And that makes me wonder if they have a long term plan that is counter to the current regime.

Time will tell.

Niger has been selling Uranium to France for pennies on the dollar. Well that price has gone up drastically now. Which is a good thing (Niger no longer being raped.)

Don’t be naive …. US military “advisors” were in Vietnam and surrounding countries long before regulars were “deployed” …. and long before Cronkite began reporting on it …

BTW, …. major lithium and uranium deposits discovered in Niger …
jes’ sayin’ …

How do they determine who gets the shaft on deployments

Africom. Still beats east Africa . They send you to “ethiopia” conveniently bordering sudan and Somalia . shite hole. We shouldn’t be anywhere on that continent. Well, 20 percent of the population would ideally be in Liberia but that didn’t come to pass

Yeah, we've had a base there for at least 10 years. It was not a secret.

1,100 isn't that much when you consider the enabling element ad logistics.
