We should outlaw all political contributions that come from foreign entities.

There's the foreign influence on elections that Dems are always squealing about, but not a damn one of the Congress critters on either side of the aisle will dare give up their dark money.

And from out of state.

Any business or company donating to a candidate must live/be-headquarterd in the area that office represents.

Let's go one step farther and eliminate all lobbyists foreign and domestic. I want our representatives making decisions based on what WE THE PEOPLE want without financial influence from the organizations.

Lobbyists write the bills that congressmen don’t read. That should be the starting point of fixing this mess

Because politicians love money. They are either crooked or on the way to becoming crooked.

Term limits would help drmatically. At least the bought and paid for politician would have to come in guns ablazing and screw us over where it would be easier to see. The way the bullshite creeps in over decades it is hard to see how awful they are....

Of course.

Since money and not votes is what gets people elected why should non-U.S.people or entities be allowed to have a say in our election.

I agree with the OP, and with the out of state money as well. However, they would figure a way around it all. At least now, it is more in the open and we can more easily follow the money.

Laziness and voter apathy created the conditions necessary for politicians to feel comfortable hiding pork-barrel legislation, unwarranted pay raises, and other self-beneficial bullshite on page 835 of a 1,500-page bill.

Imagine if lobbying was removed from federal politics strictly monitored and enforced thus allowing the concerns of the people to be addressed.
I know it's too much to hope for, but would solve many issues with the federal government.

Apparently none of you are familiar with the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The very last portion of it reads…”and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

That’s lobbying. It’s constitutionally protected. As it should be.

We didn't.

The whores want their money.

They can't get enough of it.

The next Republican president needs to demand a thorough investigation of ActBlue and get it shut down. That payment processor is a major factor in illegal campaign donations.

Totally agree. State elections should be limited by state as well. I don't need Californians telling Oklahomans how to live

The amount of money Soros funnels to elections across the US says otherwise.

Ummm. Lobbying for something is not a redress of grievances. Think more like fighting a road because they have to tear your house down.
