Population of Italy = 60,484,989
Population of NY + WA + LA + CA + NJ = 80,111,161 (top 5 states)

Italy = 74,386 cases
NY + WA + LA + CA + NJ = 49,796 cases

Italy = 7,503 deaths
NY + WA + LA + CA + NJ = 730 deaths

25% more population has
33% less cases and 90% less deaths

This is not Italy. If it were there would be almost 100,000 cases and almost 10,000 deaths JUST in those FIVE states.

Positive tests mean little to nothing other than being able to isolate those who test positive.

But those things are related. Isolation is critical to keeping people out of the hospital and dying. The average person with COVID infects 3 others (considerably more infectious than flu) and unlike flu, there's no population immunity. If you don't isolate, you end up a mass spike of older/sicker adults in the hospital with some dying. NYC COVID deaths are doubling every 1.5 days right now. We've gotta hope the social distancing is working.

GCT, I like you as a poster, but isn’t this like comparing Texas versus Rhode Island on raw numbers?

2 weeks at most from the shutdown orders to see cases decrease, then hospitalizations decrease, and last death rates decrease. We've had a few days of declining growth rates, which is a good sign (crossing fingers).

Models should never replace data.

And Johns Hopkins has concluded that the U.S. was absolutely the most prepared nation for the pandemic. This is despite the depletion of resources during H1N1 that were not replenished, which would have greatly helped our N95 shortage right now.

What is the difference in total population?....

How many total US deaths again? How many total deaths WORLDWIDE???
How many H1N1 deaths IN THE US ONLY in 2009?....Yeah, thought so.

Just stop.

Ask him about deaths (not per capita, but raw numbers)?

Seeing as we have the 3rd highest population size of any country in the world...you're really dropping some earth shaking evidence doctor.

If you honestly think we'll be number 1 by the weekend that's fine but your really need to find a way to put CCP as a trademark in your name with all your BS.

Get F*d for spreading hysteria sir.
