i don't think it's a lot. it's just stupid to keep mid five figures in a checking account. why don't you fill me in on the upside of doing so when there are far better options?

Ah yes, not hatred for the Persians they see as a threat, just those dollars you selectively spend.

Kinda allows them to do the proxy war thing doesn't it. We are their proxy.

The whole "proxy war" excuse, you used to make Iran a "bad guy" is bogus. We all do the "proxy war" thing.

Better to just be honest. We have been trying to keep Iran destabilized since '53. Apparently it suits our goals. This is just more of that.

But i cannot freaking believe we didnt have a plan to keep the strait open and are reduced to begging the chinese to send ships to help open it.

He's not begging anyone. Don't you think getting other countries involved in protecting the strait would be beneficial to isolating Iran and ending the war?

All the complainers fail to look at things objectively.

You people complained about us paying to keep the straight open. Now you complain we are inviting others to help.

You complain that Trump is isolating other countries. Now you complain he is trying to work with others.

You people complain no matter what happens.

Trump getting other countries to help with the strait is a good thing for us, but you people have an incessant need to spin everything negatively.

See, many were fine (including me) with the first attack where DT said mission accomplished.

In fact, it was apparently not accomplished and here we are.

So, as long as everything is easy, you support it? If anything is not wrapped up by the next commercial break it's de facto nation building? Got it.

Iran has been in danger of "getting the bomb" for a long, long time. Why is it suddenly an issue, even after we dropped bunker busters on their facilities and were told the problem was solved?

As Marco Rubio openly stated, the threat was Iran building a missile arsenal so large that any attempt to stop them from getting the bomb would be even more expensive in terms of lives. The bomb is not the only threat, and it was never the only threat, but people keeping acting like it is.

Stopping a problem before it becomes overwhelming is a foreign concept, apparently.

Why is it any more of an imminent danger than a wholesale nutjob having them in North Korea, a tyrannical egotist having them in Russia, two nations in India and Pakistan with very old hatreds having them or the perpetual loose canon of Netanyahu having them?

This is a dumb argument. Do you not understand the difference between stopping a country from getting a nuke and trying to remove nukes from a country that already has them?

Those other countries are a danger, and we can't do anything directly about it because of the nukes. And you want to add the leading sponsor of global terrorism to that list.

It doesn't take much to see why the situations have to be handled differently.

Comparing Marxists to fanatical religious Jihadists is apples to oranges. The Jihadists brought down the Twin Towers and yet are sill standing. Iran is Jihad central. Cut off the head is the only strategy. And hope that works.

Or you could just admit you were being a dink and it didn’t work

If you think turning over 50k every 3 months thereby having it readily available is stupid you obviously don’t have enough funds to do so or you’re a dick

So which is it. Poor. Or dickish.

US/Russia/China need middle east oil. The former 2 have nothing of value to exchange for it other than military tech/munitions. Destabilizing the region and insuring there's perpetual armed conflict is and will continue to be the M.O. until there's no oil left. Just look at the Iran-Iraq War for crying out loud. The USSR was arming Iraq, China was arming Iran and the US was arming both of them
