Depends on how you became wealthy.

This is meant to squeeze out the petite bourgeoisie.

Lizzy gonna lose even the Wall Street libs with plans like this. They warned the Democrats.

Funny how Trump is gotta have this headache, but in doing so he's destroyed Biden.....who has been slipping big time and will continue to do so and the Democrats will be forced to nominate a Liz Warren that is so far left, EuroComm's blush.

Yea, that’s not what I meant. My bad if not clear.

I’m saying that even if Congress were to pass Warren’s wealth tax using the standard approach, the courts would strike it down as unconstitutional. So it would require a constitutional amendment to actually implement a wealth tax, and with the crazy high barriers those require, there is no chance that it would ever pass.

How exactly do they expect people to pay that much. Do they think billionaires are just sitting on that kind of cash?

Can someone explain the premise of the OP?

6% tax on what? Wealth or income?

Is this just illustrating the tax will outpace growth? Seems arbitrary and confusing to apply this to income.

It's not your wealth anyway, the federal government is just nice enough to let you borrow it for a little while.

These idiots have no idea the difference between liquidity and net worth.

It’s open season on the wealthy. Class warfare is the name of the game and once they divide the country based on perceived economic measures, they pit one against the other for their political gain.

Rather than try to lift people out of economic doldrums, they try to bring the top down.

It’s incredibly dangerous and unamerican

It does a bit more than that, otto.

Aren't you an old fart? Surprised you're so cavalier about this kind of taxation. It affects older middle and upper middle class retirees significantly.

What is considered wealth?

Is it all based in net worth?

If I own a million dollar property but do not make money off of it, will I still be forced to pay an additional 6% take on that “wealth”?

I would say the tax is on net worth, so you would be out only $60,000. The good news is that it would only be for one year. The next year, the value would collapse on the building, and would be taxed on the new, rock bottom value.

You are a liar.

US TAX REVENUE BY YEAR

Quote:
FY 2020 - $3.64 trillion, budgeted.
FY 2019 - $3.44 trillion, estimated.
FY 2018 - $3.33 trillion.
FY 2017 - $3.32 trillion.

So what are you coming up with next liar?
