I don't want impeachment or contempt. I just want the fbi to be transparent and open. I think the Amerian people deserve to know all the facts about the investigation, including all the bad stuff found on trump during this investigation.

I wholeheartedly agree with you but Devin Nunes has proven himself incompetent and compromised by this White House. If they agreed to turn it over to the senate judiciary or intelligence committees instead, I'd be fine with it and would think it's necessary to make sure Congress gets its oversight.

It can't lead to removal from office without passing both houses of congress, including a supermajority in the Senate.

Holder was held in contempt of Congress and what did that accomplish? Unless Nunes can send in some police force to physically take the documents, just like Mueller did to Trump's lawyer, then all of this is meaningless. I don't even know who would raid an FBI office.

See that's where you are wrong.
1- Contempt charges can be filed without Ryan.
2- Ryan may try to not bring it to the floor, but which will be worse? It will end him. He is already on shaky ground.
3- If charges are filed, It will also force the hand of the President.

There is no way that Devin Nunes is the end of Paul Ryan. There is no way the House has the votes to even pass contempt charges.
Also, if Trump is going to fire anyone at the DOJ he is going to do it whether or not Nunes gets his docs? What does Trump's hand look like right now. He doesn't even have an attorney representing his personal interests.

They have to answer to the AG of the United States and Ultimately to the Supreme Court, who you are correct, are not elected officials

If Nunes, Rosenstein are at an impasse, Trump can declassify those documents any time he'd like. This seems like a pretext.
