That's perfect. I hate the NYT propaganda machine as much as the next one but at least I apply my politics fairly. I couldn't be happier for businesses or individuals that pay minimal taxes.

Yeah, that's just the FedEx CEO slinging some of the same mud back at the NYT. I mean with respect to 2018, their ETR was 27% which is basically the Fed stat and state blended tax rate so not sure what he is barking about there.

As for 2017, looks like they benefited from some equity comp that helped that year's tax bill. Much bigger impact than most years. I'm guessing a larger batch of awards given the stock was lower. Not enough info to say zero, though.

Basically the NYT ran a bullshite story and Fred Smith hit them back with the same bullshite. There's nothing here.

Yes there is, and thats it. Anyone can play the same selective datapoint bullshite game. And NYT’s came right back at them...

No one actually fricking cares what NYT’s taxes were.

Even if they were orange and bad, it doesn't count because nobody at the NYT could be mistaken for a man.

So if NYT and Amazon do it, it makes it okay? Got it.

It’s like there are tax laws and they have tax attorneys or something.

Wow you are so dumb. No, it means that it’s okay if ANYONE does it; it’s within the fricking law. Don’t like it take it up with Congress.

If the NYT and Amazon, both of whom support Biden, call Trump out for it that just means they are HYPOCRITES.

Which is clearly acknowledge in my post. There's nothing there to the claim that the NYT doesn't pay tax. Just as there wasn't for the claim against FedEx.

I want to go on record saying I very much care. That's a profitably business and they, like most businesses aren't pulling their weight. Game is rigged.
