was at 49%. Turnout was low. People were not motivated to vote, I know I wasnt. I bet it's similar in other states as well.

Jamie Davis received 720k votes out of 1.4 million total.
Kamala received 760k votes in 2024.
Trump received 1.2 million votes.

No new surge in Democrat voters kept this race close or changed outcomes in other solid red states.

Dems were motivated because of Trump, and Republicans and independents weren't, and stayed home because of Trump. And this is what you get.

It’s actually impressive that Letlow bucked the tide like she did that will probably take down Hyde-Smith in Mississippi as well given how bad of a candidate Letlow was.

if the national Dems put any weight behind Davis, he would have won.

It was actually much higher than turnout for our last governor election and higher than the last midterm election.

Voter turnout in 2022 midterm election: 42%

Voter turnout to elect Landry: 36%

I wasn’t motivated because of the establishment republicans.

I voted because of Trump.

I think maybe if there had been mayoral races in any of the major cities, she would have lost?

National Dems would have called him an Uncle Tom for being too moderate unfortunately. He pushed common sense and values that most people in LA can agree with. If he runs for Gov, he’ll have as good a shot as any Democrat recently

Just imagine the turnout for the runoffs in December for the 5th and 6th district. Could be trouble.

Agreed, and hopefully will still feel that way once she builds a voting record.

I'll never look back and wish for Cassidy to have won, but could easily see wishing Flemming had beat her out, if she really starts to pull left.

WWL was saying this morning that Trump shot himself in the foot going after Cassidy. Said Cassidy would have beaten Davis by a much larger margin than Letlow. And that conservatives didn't care to support Letlow and the results showed.

My question is what benefit to the GOP would re-electing Cassidy have brought them? Cassidy was anti Trump, Anti GOP in a lot of ways. IMO the democrats lost an alley when Dr. Cassidy was defeated.

Is this what WWL is upset about?

It's not like Davis won. Letlow has a chance to strengthen the GOP with her win, but if she opposes Trump and the GOP then it will just be Cassidy 2.0.

I know there is early voting options but generally it seems the average working voters have less time to get a vote in rather than voters that do not work because the election day is Tuesday.

This seems to be an advantage for the democraps.

Polls were open from 6:00 am - 8:00 pm in Louisiana.

Jamie Davis pretty much capped out what a Democrat is going to get in Louisiana.
