Most (not all) time capsules are dumb. The people of any generation don’t really have a clue about what future generations will consider historically significant from their age.
Occasionally, something of interest will be found in a time capsule, but mostly not.
The cultural marxists could have actually have achieved the unlikely, if they let normal folks pick the items that represent this new Clown World. There is no doubt that 100 years from now, people will have a hard time understanding how our culture went so fricking wrong so quickly.
A time capsule could be useful. But these items they chose are laughable.

In some ways, this may be a good idea. Several hundred years from now, future historians can look at this to have a better understanding of what happened to what once was a great country.

They don’t like actual history, so they’ll replace actual history with artifacts that represent what they wish history was, and prevent future generations from learning about actual history.

There’s an alternative that would accomplish what the current idiots want without destroying anything: leave the older capsule in place and place the new one alongside it with an explanation that the current idiots believe they’re a superior civilization. There’s no downside to this approach except it doesn’t allow the idiots to erase history that they find distasteful.
