Maybe I wasn't clear. My question was more shouldn't the Venezuelans be going to those other countries by law? I know the previous administration didn't care and wanted to pile them in here. Is there actually a law/rule about amnesty seekers applying to the nearest country without the persecution present?

No. They are, in general, very sympathetic to the communists in Venezuela.
We hate the communists, so Venezuelans are more likely to be granted asylum than other Central or South Americans. Of course, Biden started flying them in by the tens of thousands without vetting them and Maduro turned out his prisons. Now Trump has a hell of a mess to clean up.

Panama's president actually promised to stop migration, but he's pissed about the Canal thing. Probably not too cooperative right now.

When did interviewers start fact checking during an interview? Shouldn't they simply ask questions and let the audience decide?
