This is WW5. 3 and 4 were concluded in a matter of hours, but this one will be the big one. They promise.

This isn’t a dump on Don thread my dude. What are the implications of the US military knocking on Iran’s door.

Taking out the leadership of Iran won't be as easy as taking out Maduro.

Iran is a much more militarily sophisticated country, although not nearly as sophisticated as us.

A secular Iran will be a good trading partner for the US.

Surely you guys aren’t dumb enough to think if we bomb Iran and exert regime change they will just magically turn into a thriving democracy overnight. When has that ever happened?

Did I say that I think it will happen overnight? I did not.

The question I responded to was asking how the US might benefit from regime change in Iran.

I'm old enough to remember when Iran was secular. I had classmates in engineering school at OU that were from Iran. I was still a student when the revolution happened.

I understand where you are coming from. US intervention into the affairs of other countries almost always results in some form of resentment / blowback that ends up biting us in the arse.

Much of South America dislikes us because of how heavy-handed we were with them during the 19th and 20th centuries. And of course, many of the middle eastern countries.

I'm a Ron Paul guy. But I voted for Trump 3 times because the alternative would have been much worse, so I have to take what comes.

When has it worked out well?

Philippines, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Chile

Because I actually remember Iran when it was a secular country, and a friend of the US, I think it could work out in our favor if we were able to support the removal of the mullahs. The key word being "support". We can't take the lead. The takeover needs to be organic from the inside.

We didn’t do regime change in any of these places. We actually defended the existing regime in Kuwait.

From everything I've read D-Day is 1/31 is the day the US attacks Iran and takes out the leadership and nuclear weapons.

But, I thought we took out the nuclear weapons earlier this year. Don't tell me we missed them and we blew up a side of a mountain and got nothing out of it.

All for liquidating the mullahs though. But a caution, what if it is successful? We have NO idea what could replace them.
