A Political Patron with a deadbeat relative who needs a job or the kid of a USPS " family " that goes to work the day after barely graduating from HS. That's who works for the Post Office. It's always been a jobs program for the connected.

The USPS is mostly fricked up, but their employees stuck throwing the packages for their idiotic last mile deal with Amazon don't have it easy in at least some locations.

They do work for dickheads mostly though.

If the government is simply making up unneeded jobs just to meet some job creation quota, why not simply pay people to stay home? It garners the same results.

Don't worry. Fedgov does that too.

The lazy a-hole that delivers my mail, if there's a car parked at the curb closer than 10' from the mailbox, he'll just drive by. I live in a culdesac, so it's not like he'd be blocking traffic. Also, he will just sit packages on top of the mailbox or next to it. He won't walk them to my front porch.

Well, he can't WFH, so that's the next best thing.

It’s like the old Soviet Union where we have people on jobs just to pretend there are jobs.

the USPS is a highly partisan jobs program that plays a key role in US elections….both federal and state.

It’s way past time that all but the basic, constitutionally-required postal services are farmed out to private service providers. That can do it far more efficiently and reliably.

Do away with the USPS union altogether

Shouldn’t the mail be highly automated?

I saw a mail truck a few days ago that had a Now Hiring logo with a QR code.
I immediately thought of D.O.G.E.

Definitely mismanaged. USPS picked up the contract to deliver Amazon and it’s hammered our small PO. And they’ve even told some of the drivers their hours are too long.

They recently gave a military defense contractor 6 billion for new mail trucks including over 10,000 EV trucks.

Waste on top of waste.

I sell things on ebay and have to go to the post office on Millwood every now and again. They're some of the unfriendliest motherfrickers you'll ever meet in your life. I saw this one vile woman dress down this poor old white dude one day so bad, we were all telling her to back off and she just got up and walked in the back. Just do whatever they want.

Elon and Vivek need to red pen the frick out of USPS.
