“NBC News, citing unnamed officials aware of the decision, reported it comes after new data suggests vaccinated individuals could have higher levels of virus and infect others amid the surge of cases driven by the delta variant of the coronavirus,” the USA Today reported in a passage that was later scrubbed from an article.
quote:
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said new data shows the delta variant, which accounts for more than 80% of the new infections in the U.S., behaves ‘uniquely differently’ from its predecessors and could make vaccinated people infectious,” the article notes. “Information on the delta variant from several states and other countries indicates that in rare occasions some vaccinated people infected with the delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others,” Walensky said in announcing new guidance, which reverses a CDC recommendation in May. “This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendation.”
quote:
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Tuesday that fully vaccinated people begin wearing masks indoors again in places with high Covid-19 transmission rates,” NBC News reported. “The agency is also recommending kids wear masks in schools this fall.” “Federal health officials still believe fully vaccinated individuals represent a very small amount of transmission,” the report continued. “Still, some vaccinated people could be carrying higher levels of the virus than previously understood and potentially transmit it to others.”
Masks work back ON.
Vaccine(s) work back OFF.

:slow clap:
Does this mean we can smack a dumbass DJ from 98.1 on the head for blaming the unvaccinated for infecting her vaccinated husband?

And they wonder why people are hesitant /waiting for more information regarding getting vaccinated .

I've said the last few days that there is a possibility (not a fact) that the vaccine(s) have a negative effective rate depending on what we use as the definition of "effective".

Vaccine does more harm than good. Blumpf's fault for pushing Operation Warp Speed.
The vaccine is a bad idea. It has always been a bad idea. Emmanuel Goldstein hacked the public health sites to make it look like we recommended the vaccine.

The establishment wants vaccine hesitancy.

Of course it doesn't
That's an absurd interpretation by one of our lowest IQ posters

transmissibility has nothing to do with vaccine status and everything to do with symptoms. This may be the ONLY thing Fauci hasnt changed his mind on.
Even if the vaccine lessens your chances of dying or being hospitalized, if Delta breaks through and makes you symptomatic, you WILL spread the virus. Thats why we have case spikes despite being top 10 in global vaccinations. That is why the CDC is telling vaccinated people to wear masks.

Yes and no.
To me it comes down to what the definition is of "effective", meaning... the vaccine could have a much higher rate of transmission than natural immunity or even people that have no vax/natural immunity.
How effective is the vaccine? What's effective? What is the goal? How do we measure?
These are simple things but those easy questions are not being answered.

You mean giving people the virus via vaccine may make their actual virus stronger?
color me shocked

Feels like we are one more vaccine away from Planet of the Apes becoming a reality.

The goal posts have definitely been moved.
We went from "95% effective, permanent, and robust against variants" to "better than nothing, need a booster, and you can still spread tf out of Delta".

We're not quite there yet, but the vaccine could have negative effective traits. They don't know.
What is effective?
