There’s where we started out and where we are now. Now we have to clean up a mess that was created by poor planning and poor execution.
I and you were told that we obliterated Irans nuclear capability in June 2025 bombing. Did you believe that? I did.
Then we got into this situation because evidently we didn’t obliterate their capability in June 2025.
So then I thought we might be getting BS info from our government. Then I and you were told this would be quick. It hasn’t been. Why’d they say it would be quick?
I and you also were told it wasn’t a war. It is. Why’d they say it wasnt?
So it’s a conundrum. If we obliterated in 2025 then why attack in feb 2026?

why delay a (seemingly) vital military operation until after elections?
could it be everyone knows this will be a very unpopular move?
either do it because it's necessary to our efforts or shut the frick up and end this wasted effort

No not saying that at all, but if you are going try and defeat an ideology using the military the only way to do that is to take out the institutions, leaders, and everything else that teach that ideology and allow it to flourish. Sucks to say and it's not something people want to admit but that doesn't mean it isn't the truth.

Not saying you are wrong. But what would be the point of taking out Kharg Island. NOTHING is happening there. No oil is flowing there. Not oil tankers there because what would be the point? All the tankers are full. They can't go anywhere. If the IRGC get toppled, then all that will need to be rebuilt needlessly.
Destroying it doesn't hurt the IRGC because they aren't making anything because Kharg Island exist.

Fantastic, then let's just blow it up for conversation sake and to also show the world what a MOAB does to an oil terminal. Just the mention of taking it has several muslims from neighboring countries on their way to try and talk to IRAN now.

I still support going after Iran to combat their 40 year war with us, I’m just being realistic as someone who has served in combat, Iran is going to require a ground invasion. It’s not going to be pretty but it’s necessary

It's one thing to take Kharg Island, but can we hold it? It would be better to totally destroy it.
