The Biden administration announced on Tuesday that it was sending up to $300 million in weapons to Ukraine, the first new aid package for the country since funding ran out in late December.

The package, pulled together from money that Army accountants cobbled from savings from contracts that came in under bid, includes air defense interceptors, artillery rounds and armor systems, senior defense officials said. Two U.S. officials said the package also includes an older version of the Army’s longer-range missile systems known as ATACMS, which can travel 100 miles.

It is a stopgap measure at best, the officials said, but Ukraine is in dire need of air defense systems in particular, as Russia has continued its bombardment of towns particularly in the east.

The makeshift solution would keep advancing Russian troops at bay for only a few weeks, one official said.

Announcing the aid package at the White House, the national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said that “Ukrainian troops have fought bravely, are fighting bravely throughout this war, but they are now forced to ration their ammunition under pressure on multiple fronts.”

How come they can’t do this shite to pay for day to day stuff? They can make ends meet like a motherfricker when it is going to cover “aid” that will be laundered through various groups.

Maybe I haven’t been paying attention. Has anyone articulated an end game or objective in this charade? Or is this going to go on in perpetuity?

The Pentagon just asked congress for 10 billion to replenish ammo. Why are they sending this money to Ukraine?

The Uniparty authoritarians are loving this. The money laundering machine keeps running and our supply of firearms and ammunition continues to dwindle towards zero.

The idea is to outlast Russia. At some point they’ll realize that Ukraine won’t capitulate, and occupation is impractical. The Afghans, with less from the outset , did it.

the idea is for companies and politicians to profit. I know you're too dumb to comprehend but there is no war except on taxpayers.

It’s been over two years now. How much longer? Two, five, ten years? The problem with your thesis is that this is a big damn deal to Russia. They perceive it as a major threat. It’s not like Afghanistan at all. You underestimate their staying power and determination on this.

See Iraq and Afghanistan.

Eventually it will mostly end, at which point it will have become worse than when we showed up to save the day.
