bullshite

He can either sign something or be accused of "shutting down the government"'

Then you would whine about that.

Not good which is why tinkering with interest rates has very minimal impact outside of a rate that would cripple the economy and anyone with debts

Maybe you can tell us - what are the workable big ideas to fix it since then?

Let's elect democrats!

What a dumbass. The WORKABLE big idea was Trump and the republicans cutting spending via DOGE. Trump AND the republicans aligned to backtrack on it.

Spineless lying weak-arse republicans. That is what elects democrats.

It's too far gone to fix it. Just on interest alone. But if you think democrats are gonna fix it. God bless.
Expand Medicare, Medicaid, universal Healthcare, open back up us aid, nick Shirley act, forgive student debt and on and on

I remember sitting beside two economics professors at a luncheon thing a few months before the last presidential election. I asked them which candidate would be better for the economy.

One of them said something to the extent of "the economy would grow more under Trump. But would it be good longterm growth?"

I don't know enough about economic and fiscal policy to know exactly what that meant, but I just thought it was interesting.

this is why the Filibuster will always be in place. It protects both sides from the real blame and SOS will continue.

We can’t grow our way out of this, eventually when the interest payments on the debt become the largest expenditure it will be the end regardless of the party in power

Thanks for posting this link. I look at the 3-year comparison in every category and 2 things really jumped out.

DHS-Customs and Border Protection
All of 2024 - 10.582B
All of 2025 - 12.747B
To date 2026 - 156.053B

Federal Salaries (EFT)
Tracking about 2% higher than last year and 4% higher than 2024.

I thought we slashed 10s of thousands of government jobs.

Reagan cut the top tax rates by more than half and the deficit exploded.

We didn’t see a budget surplus for 20 years until the tail end of Clinton.

Bush 2 passed a massive tax cut and the deficit exploded. The annual deficit didn’t start going back down until the tail end of Obama.

Trump has now passed 2 massive tax cut bills that have caused trillion dollar annual deficits even in years our economy is good.

30 trillion added in the last 20 years and the middle class has shrunk, birth rates have declined, infrastructure has decayed, and cost of living has soared.

It’s time to tax that money at the top back into the public coffers.

You're and idiot. Tax revenue is up almost 4% over last year and much more over the year before. The growing deficit is entirely due to increased spending primarily due to higher interest on the debt service.

SS and Medicare are the only places meaningful cuts can come from. Though in a few years debt interest will make those look like small items.

Take out all of the fraud, waste and abuse and comeback with what the actual deficit is. The deficit is fake as frick which is why nobody in DC gives a shite about it because they are all in on it
