Not to get out but to make a political point that goes viral and will last longer than 15 minutes. Everyone who wears the uniform knows from day one don’t wear your uniform in protest. He’s not stupid or green. He knew the outcome he was going to achieve.

My point…. He knew exactly what he was doing. I’d also venture to say losing everything like others before him, he will gain in the political and talk show circuit. I’m sure there will be a book deal, speaking engagements, ect.

It essentially wipes out his service. Can't own or posses a firearm. Can't get any loans or grants (especially Federal), pretty much eliminates you from any civilian government benefits. Loss of any retirement/Pension. A lot of civilian employers will not hire you. Can't vote, etc.

Officers don’t get dishonorable discharges. They get dismissals. They can be subject to special courts martial (one for lesser offenses with maximum sentencing up to 12 months of confinement).
This one is likely to be referred to a general court martial which is the highest level and a conviction punishment is only limited by the maximum sentence for the crime (confinement for life, death penalty, etc.).
A conviction by general court martial makes someone ineligible for any VA benefits by law. A dismissal for an officer is the same in severity as a dishonorable discharge for an enlisted. A dishonorable discharge is basically a felony conviction stamp in lieu of the military judicial process. It comes with all the disadvantages of being a felon.

Far be it from me to defend this jerk, but in fairness to the other long-term O-4's in the USAF, rank is more difficult to come by in the Air Force than in the other branches. I've known several pilots who have retired after 20 years at the rank of MAJ when they would more than likely have retired as LTC (O-5) from any of the other branches. There are only so many slots open for Squadron Commanders who are typically LTCs.
That being said, it is patently obvious that he doesn't have the mettle to be a Squadron Commander, so your assessment is probably spot on for accuracy.

More difficult to make rank now days and he may have been prior enlisted. Looking at his badge I’m guessing an LRS officer. I’ve seen a few prior Es go to OTS and have a rack of ribbons like that.
