That manifesto reads like a line-by-line list of talking points from the media.

According to other reports (verified by law enforcement) he used a .38 semiautomatic

He used an Armscor(Rock Islamd) reported by NYT and others.. They don’t make 38 special semi autos. They do make 38 special revolvers. There are only a few 38 semi auto pistols ever made and most are high end target guns like the S&W model 52 which cost around $2500. More than likely this was a Rock Island revolver.

but this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to do something about it

Why was this event the first real opportunity? This comment seems to indicate he had info or an “in” from someone else, like the sister.

Armscor (Rock Island) makes several versions of 38 Super semiautomatics, all of them are 1911 variants.

Forgot about the .38 super. Would be weird for a novice to carry a 1911 38 super.

They do make 38 Super semi's.

It's a curious choice either way.

Here's my thoughts on it, for what it's worth... 38 Super has been around a long time in America, while we didn't really go to 9mm that much until the 70's. Colt made plenty of 1911's in 38 Super, and they are widely praised online at all the Colt and shooting forums. And you really just need a barrel swap to go from 38 Super to 9x19 (another fact commonly posted on a lot of sites). Arnscor makes 1911's in 38 Super. I looked awhile ago and found one online for under $350 new. You get 10 shot mags instead of 7-8 shots with 45acp, and less recoil.

**This is the type of online info our shooter seems like he may have read. He does seem to have consumed a lot of online info, likely reddit. Kinda curious what r/liberalgunowners has posted about that.

While I have zero knowledge and don't claim otherwise, I could see competition shooters (the type who would like a 1911 in 38 Super) have a liberal slant. If you're competing in a shooting sport, the gun is the same as a bow and arrow, a pool cue, a dart etc. You're trying to get a score, and not necessarily interested in firearms for other reasons. Again, I'm not saying competitive shooters are liberals, but some might lean that way.

This guy appears to have been brainwashed by all the shite he read online... he might also have been online to get info on what guns to buy, and why.
A Mossberg Maverick 88 is a completely acceptable pump action 12 gauge (not nice at all, but generally they work ok enough). They're considered good bargains if you get one sub-200, which you often can. He didn't get a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500, he went budget. Walmart or Academy, or similar.
The equivalent budget 1911 is the Armscor/Rock Island. Tons of good reviews for price-to-value.

Yep. And that's why blueanons are the most dangerous motherfrickers in the country.

Qanons were portrayed as the most brainwashed ones, but... qanons are consistently challenged on their views and beliefs by people within their own party. I don't worry about them assassinating politicians.

Blueanons, they've a huge bubble they live in where no one challenges their beliefs. They can go from msm outlet to msm outlet and get total affirmation of their beliefs. Most of the institutions affirm their beliefs. They aren't calling us nazis just because they want to insult us for being politically difficult than them. They genuinely believe we're nazis.

It's just been released that this nut worked for former 80s bubble gum rocker-Rick Springfield. ...don't know what he did for him.

I didn't see that but I did see that he has some kind of an In with hotel management.

Does anyone know why he didn't have a shirt on?

Also wouldn't it make sense for him to buddy up with a reporter from the mainstream media news and get a guest invite?
