How long are people supposed to avoid driving downtown, and how are they supposed to know which roads an unsanctioned protest is going to use?

I think you'd have a stronger point, or a point at all, if this was a well publicized one-off event. It's not difficult for most people to avoid a certain road on a given night. All month? That's nonsense.

Didn't the dead guy say the reason he had a gun was because they weren't allowing them to march on the street?

May have missed it in the pissing contest but an update:

“Detectives are reviewing available video, photos and witness statements to determine the precise actions of those involved, and APD says both individuals have been released pending further investigation.”

"Marches" are sanctioned by the city and occur on closed streets. Is that what was happening? Did the driver turn down a closed street? Or were these protestors in violation of laws?

Yep, that's why I figured they weren't sanctioned to be in the road. With no police roadblocks, you can expect to encounter cars if your dumb arse is walking down a public street. Maybe don't swarm them next time and just let them pass. Is that too hard?

If it was a sanctioned protest / march the road would have been blocked and he would have not been able to turn where he did.

Agreed. I don’t know who the driver is, so I don’t know if he’s a local, tourist, just passing through, etc.

The roads were not closed, and the protesters in the street were breaking the law.

Police need to enforce legal protests. The situation now is allowing unsuspecting drivers to make a wrong turn and end up in the middle of a march.

I think it’s clear he either accidentally did bump someone or came very close to it. That’s why the dude tried to act like a hardass with his rifle.

If a car starts riding through a group, I can definitely understand why people would feel threatened.

You lose any type of “feel threatened” defense when you are illegally occupying a space the person you are threatened by is legally entitled to. That’s like saying someone who breaks into my house when I’m not home can get aggressive when I return because they “feel threatened”. No, their stupid asses shouldn’t be there to begin with.

Cuomo just had an “eye witness” to tell his side of the story. Dude was obviously there to make it sound like the car driver was Mario Andretti in the crowd. BTW Cuomo said the victim had an AK47(didn’t use assault) rifle. So it’s not an “assault” rifle If you’re a libitard carrying it.

I used to have an Ak-47 like that. I paid about 300$ for it at a pharmacy. The pharmacist there also had a gun dealer license. I think it's a Romanian WASR 10 unless someone knows otherwise? It's hard to group 10 shots within 10 inch square with that thing from 25 yards out. It's funny he had a scope on it. The first 5 shots on the vid sounded like mine did but sound can always be distorted in real life with plugs, muffs, or from camera to online to computer speakers. I agree about the other three likely coming from a handgun

Now Cuomo is quoting the dead guys interview but claims he didn't hear him say that people were pussies and wouldn't do something about his gun. What a fraud lol

Sounds a lot like victim blaming to me. He should’ve known better to drive down streets that are made for cars and not protesters illegally blocking traffic and breaking the law.....

Seems like a good job by the driver neutralizing the gun totting scunbag.
